Hey everyone,
I’ve got a DVO setup on my bike: Diamond fork and Topaz shock. The fork has some small scratches on the stanchions, and I’m pretty sure the Topaz shock is blown and needs a rebuild. Problem is, there’s only one shop in Salt Lake that carries the seals for it.
I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth putting more money into this suspension (fork + shock service) or just upgrading to something like a Z1 fork and Bomber Air shock for easier maintenance in the future.
Would love to hear your thoughts—especially from folks who’ve dealt with scratched stanchions, Topaz rebuilds, or run a Z1/Bomber setup. Is the service hassle worth it, or is upgrading the smarter move?
I’ve attached some pictures of the scratches and there is some fading on the right fork upper.

I run the same fork and shock as you. It sounds like you are trying to do the work yourself. The big selliing point for me with DVO is that it can be serviced by the home mechanic and DVO has excellent documentation. I would say rebuild your shock.
The scratches could be fixed. Here is a post with some ideas: https://www.pinkbike.com/forum/listcomments/?threadid=229408. I know I have been very lucky in that I have not had to deal with this. So definitely do some research.
The Marzocchi stuff is ok but hardly an upgrade over DVO.
I’d go DVO service and ride on
