  1. Based from the photo, yes. General rule is you want at least a couple mm of clamp surface ABOVE the upper stem clamp bolt.

    If this is how much gap you have with very little play in the headset right now, you’ll need a new fork.

    The steertube looks a little short. You should only have about 3mm (according to the last steer bung instruction manual I read). Are the any spacers underneath that ban be removed?

    Yes…unfortunately. I’ve got a cane creek 40 headset, is there a different style that would be recessed into the steer tube?
