Looking for a good first bike that will most likely mostly be used on the road/paved trails, but might want to dabble in some dirt/gravel just to see what I like. I found these two, which aren't super comparable by themselves, but perhaps one is a better deal than the other.
I believe the first is some year of Specialized Sirrus 1.0, but the seller doesn't know. The seller does seem very knowledgeable about bikes and has a long list of positive reviews (specifically from bike sales), including good comments on the tune-ups he does.
The second bike is sold someone without any reviews, and may be more flexible on the price.
I can't quite tell if either of these are good deals, so any feedback is helpful!

That sirrus 1.0 model I do not recommend except for light recreational use because of the Shimano tourney drivetrain it is a reliability weak link. The Trek Fx2 disc is a nice choice but the price is quite high.
I’m in Canada where the prices are a little different. If you are looking at hybrids, you really want to make sure you know what you want with drivetrains. When I started my search in late July, I was looking for 1x hybrids, then pivoted to 2x hybrids and ultimately got a stop bar gravel bike.
If a hybrid is what you want, you should be able to find bikes with hydraulic brakes pretty easily. I was first looking at Sirrus X, Giant Escape, Trek FX and Marin FSX. The Sirrus, Escape and FX were all easy to find in the Toronto area on Marketplace.
