What’s up Cycle Speedway fans!
We are back once again with another cycle speedway video, but this time, I am checking out the cycle speedway world championships! World level racing only comes to the United Kingdom once every eight years, but luckily I was invited up to Kesgrave near Ipswich to film for the event!
After watching some of the racing, I genuinely believe that cycle speedway has the answer to the way out of some of the UKs biggest problems. Our kids are plagued with obesity, depression, anxiety and addiction, but maybe cycle speedway can help them find a way out!
I give my honest opinion on how I believe the sport can help benefit the nation after watching some of the worlds best battle it out on British shores.
A big thank you to Leon Mower, chairman of the Kesgrave Panthers for inviting me to come and shoot the event.
An additional thank you to Lily B & Lewis Foxley for allowing me to use their content in the thumbnail!

Suffukk, a county known for its rich history in speedway racing. And in 2025, the Ipsiches go into the premiership final as the favorites for the country’s biggest prize. But just half a mile away as the crow flies, another prestigious former speedway comes to the UK and more importantly to the suburb of Kesgrave for the first time, the Cycle Speedway World Championships. The event took place between Wednesday the 10th of September and Sunday the 21st of September. spread amongst five different circuits across Norfolk and Suffuk. And luckily for me, I was invited to witness some of the World Championship action myself on Friday the 19th of September. So, let’s go and learn a little bit more about World Level Cycle Speedway and of course the KZgrave Panthers. My name’s Carito and welcome to my YouTube channel. [Music] Morning. [Music] Cycles Speedway has been a staple in the community of KZgrave from as far back as the 1950s when the suburb developed Cycles Speedway for the very first time. The current site within the grounds of the KZgrave community and Sports Center has been in operation since 1990 where the club famously renamed their side the KZgrave Kestrels in order to freshen things up with a change of location. But in 2008, the club would rebrand themselves once again back to the original name of the KZgrave Panthers, a name that they’ve held on to until this very day. So why was this weekend so special? Well, the World Cycle Speedway Championship only comes to the UK once every 8 years, and this was the first time that Kesra have had the opportunity to host such a prestigious event. When I arrived at the track, the World Junior Pairs was well underway and I was lucky enough to witness one of the best parts of the day, an England versus Poland runoff for the title. [Music] As the riders pull up the tapes, you have Leon Penis on gate one, Pavlar on gate two, Kenzie Bennett on gate three, and Eric Graik completes the lineup on gate number four. Scolaric enters turn one and B goes his Penith onto the center green. But unlike Motor Speedway, being brutal into the first bend is almost a necessity. So all four are brought back for the rerun. After two attempts, Kenzie Bennett wins it for England by passing Poland’s Pavlar for third. The only part of the race I didn’t capture on my drone was when Bennett actually passed Scar, but believe me, it was absolute scenes. With Penid winning the race and Bennett getting that crucial pass for the heat advantage, the English youth pairs would become world champions. [Music] [Music] Yeah. [Music] Throughout the rest of the day, I got to watch the over50s individual world final, the women’s world pairs, and some of the vets before it started to get a little bit too dark for me to film. But what are my thoughts? This is only the second cycle speedway meeting I’ve ever attended. And truthfully, not only am I becoming a lot more passionate about the sport than I thought I would be, but I genuinely believe that this could be the answer to most parents’ nightmares. As parents, we always talk about how different, simpler, and in many ways better our childhoods were. We reminisce about the days in which we’d be out from dawn until dusk on our push bikes, out in the fresh air, and not having the modern-day mental complications that come with social media. I was astounded at just how many kids and young adults were surrounding the track last Friday. Everywhere you look, it’s hundreds of kids riding their bikes, doing wheelies, and running around out in the open. The dads manned the barbecue. The moms ran the shop. And it was so refreshing to see kids just being kids, not glued to their phones, and more importantly, not being exposed to all the rubbish they can access online. These kids are not only getting fresh air and mental recess and plenty of exercise, but the sport also teaches that discipline, hard work can lead to triumph without limitations. Children can get involved with Cycle Speedway from as early as they’re able to ride a balance bike. And the youngest competitive class at KZgrave at least is as young as the under sevens. KZgrave and many other Cycle Speedway clubs offer free trials. All they ask is that you turn up with long sleeves, fulllength bottoms, and they can help you out with pretty much everything you need to see if Cycle Speedway is for you, including a bike. But if you think the journey ends there, well, you’d be mistaken. 14-year-old Demi Blue Harris started riding Cycle Speedway at KZgrave and has now found her way onto a 250cc motorcycle speedway bike. After speaking to a friend of mine at the Federation of International Motorcycling, it’s been suggested that Young Demi Blue may have what it takes to step it up into the professional ranks in the next few years. I cannot possibly recommend Cycle Speedway anymore. There is quite literally not a single negative or criticism I can think of. The whole family can get fitter, breathe fresh air, have a break away from your screens and devices, make friends, become part of a community, and potentially end up testing yourself at national or even world level. A special thank you to Leon, chairman of the KZgrave Panthers, for inviting me down to the World Championships last weekend. And thank you to everybody on site for making me feel so welcome. I’ve left a link in the bio to take you directly through to the KZgrave Panthers website where you can find all the information you could possibly need. I hope to see some of you viewers on track next season. Have a great week ahead and I’ll see you guys in the next one.
