GP5000 S TRs 32mm tubeless. Pictured is the rear tire. Wear indicators are still visible but no where near as visible as the front tires (mounted them together) but that’s expected since it’s the rear tire.

The center tread also is squared off and it’s not as smooth and rounded as the front.

It also can be all in my head but part of me feels like handling is affected and I’m not as confident cornering.

Is it all in my head? Would you still ride these tires?

Does it still hold air? If yes, then keep on riding.
Tubeless sealant is meant to plug holes, up to 6mm (depending on brand).

  2. I wear those rears until those are gone for sure. I replaced the rears when they start to get the ripple effect of the rubber being so thin.

  3. I’d still ride them, that said, I ran a set of these down to fully squared off, full of nicks and cuts, which bit me in the ass and I flatted twice on the way to a group ride. I knew they needed to be replaced, but wanted to push that off a little closer to a race. Mine were in way worse shape than yours.

I keep my gp5000s on well after the rear tire wear marks have disappeared. You do lose some grip in the corners but I’ve never had a blowout or anything. I usually replace them when the front marks are significantly faded or when the rear is completely squared off

    Yes

you are getting close to the wear bar but not there. if you are referring to the tire flat spots they aren’t terrible. I would rotate the front and back tire to get some more life out of them

If it’s rear tyre, Conti tyres are good until you can see patches of threads or keep getting pinchers. If the grip is poor or you want new tyres then go for it

Remember the new tyre goes on the front and the used front tyre goes on the rear for safety and handling.

Yea…don’t really need to worry about it on tires that don’t really have tread to begin with. You could – *shouldn’t* but *could* – ride it till the wires show. The wear indicator is a pretty generously early warning that your tire is wearing out.

Your lack of confidence is most likely due to you thiniking it’s worn. It aint, but if you don’t feel good riding it, just replace it.
