Hello there everybody. It is 7:30 in the A.M. Spanish time and we are about to embark on the Conor Sport. Sorry about that. I’m a bit hyper. Basically, I’m a bit hyper because I’ve been in bed all week with a really bad cold and I’ve woken up today. It’s the first time I feel slightly like myself. I have got a bit of a chest. Feel some fleg on there, but I’m going to give it a go. We’re going to have fun. We’re not going beast mode. We’re just going survive mode. Kyle, you are dipping the camera down there. No, I’ve got you. Um, anyway, it’s 138.42 km. Start time 8:00 a.m. You have to be finished by 1:47 to be classed as a finisher. That’s actually No, it’s not. 8 9 10 11 121 5 hours and 47 minutes for 86 miles. It’s not with some hills. Colder Rats is 37 km in, 6.6 km long, average 5.5%. We’ve also got Cold Suta and Cole Port Diebo. Basically, I’ll pay back. We’ve done it before. Oh boy. The first part of the ride is up, then it’s kind of like bumpy, and then it’s down. So, we’re going to be late. Let’s go. We’re here with Cam’s Cycling accident management service. Cool. Will be an accident today cuz this jersey bit tight. So, yeah. Let’s hope that um contained. Yeah. No pins, no circulation, more like some people will be taking this very seriously because it’s a grand fondo, so there’s like cash prizes. But don’t worry, we’re not we’re not doing that are Kyle. We’re just being sensible today. No, don’t give me that look like you’re going to go fast cuz I’m not. I’m recovering from illness here. I’m not. Oh, also within our camp team, we have the one and only Ed Clancy, the one and only Alex Det. And the one and only Bradley Wiggins. And one and only Jesse. And the one and only Jesse. And the one and only Kylie. Oh jeez. Tripped over. Here they are. Jesse’s very serious. He’s got his nose thing on. Ed’s here. Hello team. [Music] Alex being Oh, I like what you’ve done. That’s a good idea. Yeah. Yeah. Just a line of tape there. Yeah. This thing’s fallen off though, that plastic cover. So, we’re going to lose a little bit of watch there. And then this thing here. Yeah. Flapping around. You fold it up like that. And it creates lift for the climbers, but it also keeps the front end down. Yeah, it’s very hard to cause the front spoiler. You want to keep it up. And are you going to be at 20? Well, we’re going to set off right at the back here. So, I’m hoping we leave the hotel. We’re just pushing to the middle of that massive 4,000 person that comes past. Yeah. And then, as long as it’s total carnage, Amy, I don’t mind. Total carnage. No thanks. Simo, how are you? Simo is making a return to the YouTube. He was in the Italy one earlier in the year. Yeah, it’s my second appearance a riding and b on YouTube. So, looking forward to some hits and likes and follows. This is Simbo’s second ever outdoor ride this year. The turbo all year. Turbo all year makes you stronger and then ride the big events and then just kind of lead the pack out as a way. What’s your game plan for today? ride at the back and slow on which and we’ll we’ll check in with you after the ride simo. This is simo before the sported. Yeah. And simo after the sport. Yeah, we’ll do simo after at the end. Right, we’ve had the photos. Brad’s here. Everyone’s here. It’s time to vouch. Kyle’s not even got his garment mount with him. Got his mount. Right, let’s roll. We’re waiting to start the T minus 14 minutes to go. Quite compact. dispersed already. I won’t be staying on this wheel. I tell you that. And to stay on this Yeah. I can feel the nerves pulsing around and I will try and stay on this wheel, but he’s going to try to behave, aren’t you, Kyle? You’re going to behave. You got to. Yeah. Otherwise, I’ll lock you out the hotel room. So, I’ve got the key. So, there’s over 4,000 people doing this. Let the games begin. I like this style. Relaxing. Be careful. I think she’ll be on the right. We are off. It’s quite a gentle start actually. We’ve been telling to slow down. I think something’s happened up here. Getting whistled and there’s blue light. So, everyone’s just slowed down a little bit. Slow. Slow. I think it’s cuz the pinch point coming up this first bit stop start a sharp corner so it’s all stopping rather than slow down going faster. This is crazy. Like it’s just so stop start. We’ve done like three two and a halfk and it’s just like this because there’s corners at the start so it’s just like pinch point so it’s like yeah not a fast start or but I’m happy with that. I’d rather be safe than flying along getting hit by someone. [Music] Hey, we’re moving. I like to move it. Move it. I like to move it. Move it. We like that. Yeah. I think I was a bit too over ambitious this morning when I was like, “Oh, I feel good again.” And I don’t I’m not fully recovered from the cold. So, it’s going to have to be I give it my best shot, but it won’t be a fast one today. But I’ll be careful doing this. We’re heading towards the mountains [Applause] for goodness sake. First climb and it’s cho block. Can’t get any speed up here. It’s like snail pace. Oh, well, it’s good for my lungs. I guess this is the bit where we go. This is the bit where I’m going to get get ahead, Kyle. But it’s not happening today. Gee whiz. Right, we’re on the first big climb of the day. 1k left to go. 270 ft to climb. 1k, Kyle. And uh I’m not feeling too good at all. Like just so much harder than normal to breathe. Definitely not recovered from my cold. So just going to have to take it easier than normal today. Try and make the most of it. Get through it. We are on colder rats. 1,148 ft climb. 4K to go. Just about recovered from the last climb. Not feeling ideal, but just going to take it steady. K’s going to help me out. Keeping it off. Keeping it slow, please. Bam. Off. More like Bamino. 2.5K to go. Not feeling good. lungs are not happy. But uh yoohoo. Just keeping on going, making the most of it. Holy pine cones. It’s all I’ve got the energy for. Hot, sweaty, hard climb. Been a lot harder than usual. Kyle’s trying his best to stay with me, but I’m too slow today. Bless him is actually staying. So, thanks, Kyle. God, do not do this with a cold. Yeah, I’m behaving. You are behaving. Thanks, bae. Appreciate it. Got it wrong as well. It’s not a 4 km climb. It’s a four mile climb. 0.71 miles to go. Hallelum. Thank God for that. That was so much harder than normal. Oh, yes time. Oh, sweetie. Woohoo! Driving! Yahoo! Panda! Another one! You must be jocking. 4.7 mi long, 1,050 ft to climb. So, another quite gentle gradient, but a long one. It’s going all the way up there. So, not what my lungs need right now to be honest. I’m on the corner that I was looking down up at, not down at looking down at where I was. One mile in. Lungs are just not happy today. So, yeah. Anyway, we’re going to stop talking about that now because nothing I can do about it. So, go look up and enjoy. Car’s up there somewhere. Sweating more than ever today. Hallelujah. Nice little 13% gradient there to get the lungs really fired up. Give me a call, mate. Woohoo. Oh, a murderer. It’s hot, hot, hot, hot, hot enough on the Spanish roads. Little red climb. We’ve done 45 miles. 40 miles to go. So, we’re over halfway. I’ll sneak in. Shake that ass for me. Shake that ass for me. Uh-oh. Crash. It’s going to crash, I think. Oh, it’s controlled. Yeah, I’ll wait here. I don’t need anything. I’ll wait up here. Kyle, we’re at a controlling Gorga. We’ve done 36.5 miles. Kyle’s gone in there to get some water. I’ve got a whole bottle left. I’ve drank one full one. I’ve got one full one left full of electrolytes. So, I’m okay. He’s gone in to get some. And then we’ll vamos carry on. Please video me. I just down this little smoothie thing. I’ve got sweat in my eyes. Really hurts. Not sure if it’s sweat or something, but Oh, Kyle’s had a Coca-Cola. Oh, there’s loads of amos. There’s Vinos. Oh, I can’t see. I’m that tree right now. Can someone hold me up? Oh, gee whiz. 38 miles to go. Oh, this is just so beautiful. Who gives a shiny about how fast we go today? The fact that we complete it when we’re not feeling 100% is good. I mean, Kyle’s been ill as well. So, yeah. Thanks for sticking with me, Kyle. I know that you’re itching to go, aren’t you? If he was on his own, you’d be finished by now. We’re climbing again. here. Lily, climbing again. Up we go. Vamos. Vamos. This guy behind me. one leg. That is amazing. And he’s doing this ride. So, I’ve got nothing to complain about. My lungs are a bit tired. So, yeah. What a guy. Climbing again. I’m getting a toe from this nice big back wheel here. Nearly at the top. Heat’s beating down on me. But I’m getting scotchio. Go on, Carly. I’m taking the wheel. [Music] We just uh went past a food stop. We both got enough snacks with us, enough water, so we’re all good to keep going. We’ve got 24 miles to go, 1,020 ft left to climb, and about 1 hour and 40 minutes until the cutoff to the end of the ride. So, we should be able to make that. I know we’ve got a nice big descent. I think it’s about a 20 km descent near the end. So, we’ll definitely pick up some speed there. And I’ve perked up a bit now. Feeling much better. I think I don’t know if it’s cuz I know that I’ve got through the hard bits or what, but I’m feeling better. Maybe that smoothie hit the spot. I was whacking down a smoothie. Do you like it? No. No. No. It’s awful. Horrible. Why not? Bit warm. Oh, hell no. Hell no. We’re going up there now where those little dots are. It’s Rich from the skeleton Thor Pezley near Robertherham. Rotherham. You’ve got a good accent there actually. Yeah, of course it is. I’m actually from Barnley, so Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hence why I know Ed and Chris. Oh, yeah. You were riding with us a bit yesterday, weren’t you? That’s right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You enjoying the ride? Fantastic. Lovely, isn’t it? It beats being in Yorkshire in September. Woohoo. Flow my neck. It’s beautiful though. Just looking up, looking around. Can’t not be happy when you see that. It’s so nice. Holy son of a nutcracker. Wait. Lovely. Wow. So nice. Are you mesmerized? You’re always mesmerized when you’re next to me. Yeah. Hey. Wow, this is gorgeous. Windy now. It’s very windy. Yeah, we got a lovely headwind. The last climb of the day is Cole Port Deo. Debo. I’ll probably say that completely wrong. Looking like this. 517 ft, 1.97 mi to go. So then a nice big yippy, which I can’t wait for. Aka a nice freewheel down. We’re nearly there. And actually, although I started off a bit hesitant, I’ve really loved it. And it’s just so beautiful. It’s closed road, so that’s nice, too. 0.4 miles left to climb. Whack me on a plate. I’m cooked. I don’t want a fried egg. Just whack one on me back. I’m hot enough. Hey. Hey. Hallelujah. We made it. [Applause] Big climbs are done. Time for a nice shipping. Oh, look at that. That is what you want to see. Thank holy pine cones for that. Wow. Oh, sweet relief. [Music] I said I was feeling it all that time. Feeling good. Feeling bad. I was just struggling. All right. Yeah. Yeah. That’s all right. I was not. 1.5 miles to go. I’m putting out 250 watts. Kyle’s gone. He’s on the front of that group up there. He’s left me for dust, but we’re nearly done. So, last little push to the end. Thanks for waiting for me, Kyle. Thanks for the toe. What a legend. He dropped that for me. We did it. Now we’re going to go to our hotel room, get in the air con. I expect to see Jessie. Jesse and everyone will be done. Alex party. Oh yeah, they might be. They might have won. You never know. Pasta party. Yes, please. I need some carbs. Carb me up. I need a drink. Should we go and ditch our bikes in the room and then come back out? Yeah, you have a beer. Who deserves it? Get two drinks with your voucher. Yeah, I’ll be very impressed with the attack over the top. Right, let’s go and put our bikes in the room and then we can get some piesta. Right, we’re back in the hotel room. One word to describe me. Sweaty. At one point in the ride, my legs were dripping. Is that normal? Is this normal? It’s a bit pretty warm. As that American person said once. Anyway, ride stats are in. 84.55 mi. 7,732 ft of going up. Sorry about this line here. This jersey is quite short. Moving time 5 hours, 7 minutes, and 50 seconds. Average power 163, which is quite high for me. Average weighted power 190. That takes out the descending. And shocking. That’s shocking as Buddy the Elf would say. Colder rats. I got a blowing personal record up there. 22 minutes 57 seconds. And my previous record was 27 minutes 50 seconds in January. So taking off 5 minutes and 7 seconds with a lingering cold. I felt like I was breathing through a deflated popcorn kernel. So you know 3 days time before we go home, if I’m feeling good, I’m going up there and I’m going to get a new one. And it averaged 230 watts up there for 22 minutes. Oh, I’ve got a power meter on. So, I did it in 22 minutes. Yeah. 57 seconds. But I could in 40 40 seconds. You beat me. But I know I could run a lot quicker. Average speed 16.5 mph. Yeah. And athlete intelligence AI says, “Solid endurance ride in Spain with strong power performance, hitting personal best and shining in longer duration efforts despite recovering from a cold.” Thanks, mate. Really appreciate that. I also got a personal record on colder rats latest segment and colder rats tarborina. I think they’re the different segments of the colder rats. But anyway, I’m happy with that. And we were half an hour within the cut off. So, we made the cut. We made the cut. And now I’m going to go and cut myself some pasta up. How you feeling, Kyle? Good. If you weren’t with me, you’d be finished about an hour ago or more. No. Anyway, enough dillydallying around cuz I’m I’m shaking cuz he’s on. But I thought I can’t be indecent. So I put my running shorts on. I was going to put a t-shirt on but then I thought you know mom life for the living so live it way swimming que and don’t be bad about it sad about it. I mean roll his eyes the camera. I’ve gone really hyper. I just feel you know like when you’ve done a ride and then you just feel really good about it. You gave me a few tellings off. I did not. No I had one telling off is when you left me and you came back to me like a night and shining armor. Are you okay? Oh don’t forget our tickets. Are you okay? Don’t drink all of that. Right. Anyway, do you mind? We’ve got We get two drinks each and a pasta. I hope they do non alcoholic cuz I don’t want a beer. Where’s the room? Flies down there. I’ve had some issues. I’ve got two flyby bites. One here that’s developing into a wallet now. Into a ball of puss and another one. Get my wallet. Get your wallet. What do you need your wallet for? This is free. You get two beers with this. I want three. You don’t want three. You’ll be pad gas. In the words of Peter K. Don’t say you’ve lost your wallet. It was in your back pocket of your jersey, isn’t it? Come on, Jesse. And everyone’s waiting for us. The reason I’ve got a swim on is cuz there’s a pool here. And there’s also a beach. I’ve not been in the sea all year. And after this morning and the colder rat, is it called a rat or colder rat or colder rat? called a rat I think in Spanish. Can’t believe we got a PB up there. I was coughing up a lung, right? You’ve lost your wallet now. I’ve only got one. This you’ve I’ve never known you to lose so much stuff. No wonder. Look at the mess on the floor. Oh, give me my juice and never lose anything normally. Well, you’ve done well this holiday cuz you forgot a part to your bike. You’ve lost your wallet for losing stuff. Right, let’s go. Right, we’re waiting for Simo because he’s not we don’t think he’s finished yet, but we’ve been waiting quite a while and we feel like we’re going to get Sunstroke. It’s controversial. Where is he? What’s your verdict? Is he in his hotel room turned his phone off? We’ll see you later. He’ll be doing his little chuckle. Right. Well, we’re just sat here still waiting to simmer. We’re not quite sure where he is, but these two lovely people. And I’ve already forgotten your names. I’m really sorry. Andrew and Debbie. Andrew and Debbie. And come see us with our little dog, Harley. Let’s have a look at Harley. And here’s Harley. And you two watched our tour of France. So brilliant on you today. Yeah. And they recognized Kylie’s hat that you did. I recognized you. I recognized you first and I said, “I’m sure that’s and then you recognize my tan line.” Yes, I did. Simo’s finished and he’s by the blumbing pool. The point we’ve been sat here sweltering waiting for him because I’ve been sat here waiting for him. Right. Let’s go and get him. Let’s go and get his ride debrief. Right. Simo’s just called me saying, “What are you playing at? And are you coming?” Cuz he’s ready for his post ride interview. He’s having a chandi by the pool. So I said, “Yes, Simo. I’ve been sweltering for you, waiting by the blooming finish line. Little did I know, you’ve already back.” Oh, well, we met some lovely people anyway, so it’s all right. Please be careful. Hi guys. Yeah, just back from the uh Alberta Conidor Grand Fondo and now known as Salty Simo. I am saltier than a salty sea dog from Salt Lake City. Um, and I’m just reporting back. What a great day. It’s been, you know, 10 kilos heavier than last year. Uh, an hour slower than last year, but absolutely loved it all the same. So, just living my best life here with uh Amy Cycling Adventures and supported by the snacking cyclist. We were having a great trip and uh click subscribe, follow, and share if you like what we’re doing. just just get get involved and we’ll have more content soon. And I’m gonna see you guys in the uh on the white island in a beether in a few weeks time. Catch you soon. We’ll see you on the next episode. If you’re riding tomorrow. Yeah, riding tomorrow. I’ll be on the next episode. I’m I’m going to have my own show on your channel. Right. Can I give me one ride high and one ride low? One ride low was my mechanical where my skewer came out the rear wheel. Oh jeez. Um and I was lucky not to come off, but it’s all sorted. and one ride high was the last 500 meters getting back to the finish line. So, uh yeah, let’s let’s report back in the next uh episode. Yes. Right, let’s go. You told me last night at dinner that it was easy easy sportive. Easy. Not once did the word easy come into my mouth. No, it was easy last year when I was a lot fitter, a lot faster, and a little bit younger. Uh but this year it was uh very challenging. So hot and humid. Hot and humid. Yeah. Yeah. Right then. We had a lovely pasta party. ate basically some pasta. Had some time by the pool. I even went for a dip. You didn’t. I chilled out. Didn’t get to go to the beach cuz somebody didn’t want to go with me. I didn’t want to go on my own. So, they’ll go tomorrow. I just wanted to chill out after that ride. Yeah. Um anyway, we didn’t get We did actually see Jesse, Ed, all the lads, but unfortunately, we didn’t get them on the camera. Jesse came fifth again. Again, like last year. Ed to Clancy came ninth. Brad had a saddle issue and only managed 15 miles, unfortunately. Um, Alex did well. I think he came top 200. Yeah, 100 summer. So, all around a good day out, but we will get a debrief from um Ed and from Jesse tomorrow cuz we’re going to be riding tomorrow. We’ve got three more days of riding. Tomorrow’s plan is a chilled ride, which we’re ready for, and then a longer ride the next day. So, yeah. Anyway, we’re going out for a curry tonight. A curry tonight. To end the day, I know when they said where we’re going for dinner tonight, they said curry. I thought hell to the ass. But then I also thought health to know because I’m really I’ve been hot all day and I think and all the carbs I’ve eaten adding that adding a curry into there the digestive system is going to hate me. But that’s it’s all right though cuz I love you. Yeah. Well, you won’t love me tonight when I’m actually well behaved today. Yeah, you won’t love me tonight Carl after the curry. You’ve got to share a bed with me. Yeah, that’s true. And please can you not have a really spicy one cuz I’ve got to share bed with you. And can you not have too many beers cuz you’re going to snore all night. You’ve already had three. I could have as many beers as I like love. No, but then you snore when you have a beer. When you have one, you’re snoring. You’re basically going to snore already. Oh well. I’m on by holidays. Need some ear plugs for this one. I tell you, honestly. Oh, I do actually have a full tub of them in me van as well. I should have brought some along. Let me know. In fact, oh, also there is actually one in my wash bag. Oh, can I use them tonight? I bought some apples from the shop. Let me tell you one thing. Waste of money. Mushtastic. You know, I love a cruncher. This is a Product Manzana garlic. Oh, it’s a gar. That’s why they’re the ger of the pits. The only galas you want are the big dancing ones where you go to the dancing galas. Yeah. All right, Kyle. Galas are the pits of the apple. You got you got your jazz, you got your pink lady, you got your joyer. Joyy’s up there, too. Actually, even a Granny Smith I put before a joyer cuz at least you can cook it and it tastes good. It’s meant to be mushy when it’s cooked. It’s not meant to be mushy when it’s raw. They were raw. Yeah, it’s a raw apple. If you cook it, it goes mushy and that’s acceptable. You call it a raw apple. Yeah, now we do. Anyway, we’ve still got a few more vids to come. So, tomorrow we’ll get a debrief from the fellas, but we’re going to go and enjoy our curry now without the cam. And uh hopefully it won’t repeat on me. Otherwise, you’re going to I’m going to kick back, relax, and enjoy myself. Yeah. But overall, it was a good day. Oh, and I came ninth woman. She did. Came ninth woman. Gives you all this talk saying all and that’s impressive considering how you’ve been ill. Still ill today. Yeah, quite badly over the last 2 three days. Not been good. Well, I’m not 100% still now. It’s amazing what you can do with a good domestique, isn’t it? Yeah. So, I’m just checking time late. You You’re saying you’re a good domestic. You were not a good domestique. There was a few points. There was a few points today where I thought Kyle, get back here, young rap scallion. Do you know because go No, let me tell you something. Going up cold a rat ratt ratz. I don’t know how you say it right, but he said I’ll stay with you all the way. I did. I filmed you on it. No, you said I’ll stay with you all the way up. You did not stay with me all the way up. You were going up, down, all over the place. Most of it away from me. And then the second climb, Coreta, crush station, whatever it’s called. That was quite bad. I was crustating up there. Crustation. No, but you know, I have to go on a steep. And he said he’ll stay with me. No, on a steep one. I do have to go. Uh, you did not stay with me and I was on my own sweating, feeling hot, feeling like I couldn’t breathe. Then I got to the top and just saw you there and I just went past you. Went. My biggest thing that’s come out to say is I really enjoyed my little moment of attacking even though I came back to you. Did come back. You are so competitive. No, this in my head we was in this group and I was like if two people is anyone goes now just for a bit of fun I’m going. Yeah, you did. You left me for two people jumped and I was like let’s have some fun. You do realize it’s not a pro pelaton race. We are just you know it’s a sport. No, we’re saying let’s have some fun. I’ve got three minutes to I want to see if my legs had any pets. Can I just show my dress off? I want to just do one thing. I’ve got a real urge to do something. But in here though, cuz there’s not enough room in there. I don’t know why, but you know this dress? Does it remind you of a Spanish? Um, it’s like the emoji. Yeah, the Spanish the emoji. The red emoji. The emoji. To the side, isn’t it? What’s the emoji? To the side. Like that. Holding the dress. Don’t do that. I can’t do that. That’s the emoji. Basically, the lighter lights. Big lights. That’s the emoji. The ifu. But then I also thought you know the Spanish bull racer where the bull racer do you mean bull ring the ball where they go like that the ball you think the bull would come if I went like that to it and there won’t be a lot left of you then also I really want to go cha cha cha right come we need to go that’s what reminds me of dancer right we need to go you’re a mom I’m going to fco I’m going to I’m going to fco to my curry now so thank you so much for watching thank you cams oh someone did actually come up to us on a climb and say thank you so much my son hang on son or daughter my son or daughter, can’t remember which, was in an accident. Hang on, got to put my shoes on cuz I’m going to be late. A monster clown. It was in an accident and Cam sorted them out a new bike and I said, “You know what, mate? It wasn’t me personally that did that for you, son. But we will take the credit.” And uh when I was hit by a car, Cam sorted me a new bike out as well, which is how I got involved in them. So, if you are ever in an accident, um hit by a car when you’re cycling, hopefully you’re not, cams, contact them. They’re not one where you have to like pay monthly or anything like that. You literally just contact them if you’re hit. So, I realize I’m in an awkward position right here. 1 minute. Oh jeez, we’re going to be late. We won’t be an ambassador for them anymore if we missed the taxi. Um, so yeah, contact them if you’re ever hit by a car and just just know about them basically. I’m coming, Kyle. Sorry. Thank you so much for watching. TT FN Tata for now. Goodbye, Kyle. Goodbye. Can I see your little face picture on the door? Yeah.

  1. Wow, 9th place in the Alberto Contador Sportive is an amazing achievement 👏 Respect for pushing through even when not at 100%! 🚴‍♂️ This is pure inspiration 💯🔥 I love watching cycling journeys like this – I also share my own rides and adventures on my channel, would be great if you check it out too! 😉❤

  2. Awesome ride with the cold! I was out all of January with two colds or perhaps what I call "no-vid," which is when you feel like you have Covid but it doesn't test out that way! LUL

  3. Looks really nice there!
