At last, I have joined the Fold, brothers and sisters!

My first Brompton, the picture was taken in front of Akasaka Palace, Tokyo. Shimanami Kaido, wait for us!

As for the bike (C-line, 12 speed, 44t, telescopic, M-bar) – I'm seriously impressed. The speed switching is effortless, the quirks of switching the hub cannot even be called a concern, it's the same way in cars – just some rules that you learn fast. And the sound of the hub just makes the thing alive, like a little motor chirping there. Rode 12km in Tokyo in around an hour – smooth. The hub becomes very useful when switching during standby, you select the 2nd when waiting for green lights and after the initial speed up kick in the 3rd.

I have an ordinary old maintained MTB – in terms of speed switching and build quality the Brompton surpasses it in magnitude. Cannot say the Brompton folds so small that its mindblowing (only when considering bulkier alternatives) – but the ability to put a BICYCLE into a large coin locker like a luggage and not being afraid that someone will steal it – that's really noteworthy.
