I’m about to enter Shikoku from Kobe and bike across it and take the ferry on the other side to finish up my Japan bikepack trips. Any recommendations on the best route across?
I have camp gear. Don’t love busy roads. Don’t mind adding days for a nicer ride.

I don’t think you can go all that wrong inland and avoiding the main roads. Maybe checkout UFO-route, the different forrest-roads (forgot the name) and the vinebridges. You know that bridge from the direction of Wakayame is not cyclable? (at least I don’t think so)
I don’t have any experience yet, but I can share my planned route for next year: [ridewithgps](https://ridewithgps.com/routes/52401501?privacy_code=abSV1TmfpwApbuXVAo9UpYU10e8QHiId)
It goes from Saijo to Tokushima and you pass a few vine bridges, Nagoro Scarecrow Village and Ochiai Village. You can simply reverse the route and instead of turning off towards Saijo (if you don’t wanna go to Imabari and Shimanami Kaido), continue along the Ufo Line, for example.
