I recently went a little crazy and bought a couple cheap MTBs in the area, then built them up with random parts in the garage and some parts from eBay. Now I'm out of bike-money and need to sell a few of them…

Trying to decide which one (or two) to keep for myself…keeping two of them is pushing it for physical space in my stable, but I don't know if I can only choose one…haha

I'm sure you can tell which one I'm biased towards based on the setup, but it would be easy to swap the drivetrain, tires, handlebars, etc to another frame if desired.

See the last two photos for the kitty photobombs!

  1. I like the GT. But I also like the bike named after my (everyone who grew up in the 90s?) TV show crush lol. I’d keep those two.

  2. WorkMoreRideLess on

The Trek and Diamondback, no question. The Trek’s gorgeous, and the Topanga looks fun as hell.

  3. If I were in your shoes the Cannondale would the easiest cut. It’s aluminum, and that makes it a bit of a pariah for me. It’s nice, dudes are into them. It would be an easy sale.

Next is the GT. Cool bike! But they’re not uncommon. If the bug ever bites you again, you wont have a hard time tracking one down.

And number three, my hot take. The Trek. I think the high point is the lugged frame. It’s something really cool, and I think a lugged frame is worth owning. But! I’d want those lugs on something with a little more occasion, a little less common. I know that is weird reasoning, but it’s what I would do.

So you keep the Diamondback. I know its heavy. I know its midrange. But I also think it has the most character. I could ride it every day and smile, while not having to be too precious with it
