  1. The competition being the ADO Air 20 Pro.

This Ebike has a carbon belt, rear hub Bafang motor, torque sensor, handlebar controls and a kick stand.
The battery is in the seat post which makes it look less like an Ebike.
The fold is horrible and doesn’t lock due to the mechanism being tiny magnets. It is really heavy as well.

Moving up to the G-Line has been a huge positive and I’ve never enjoyed a bike this much. Just the other day, I caught the wrong train that took me about 20 minutes away from my destination. No bother, I got out and rode there instead.

I’m so grateful for this bike and can’t wait to take it to on tour with me in Europe.

  2. My personal choice is Brompton or road bike. Right now my Brompton is getting a refurb / repair so I’ve been on my road bike for a month. The train has never been an issue so I’m possibly going to keep on the road bike it’s 5 minutes quicker each way for my short work end ride.

I’m going to take my road bike into the good, local bike workshop when I collect my Brompton so I’ll be back on it for awhile.

One thing I will say, Brompton has one big issue IMHO. That is everything on it is proprietary. It even needs Brompton supplied brake and gear cables!!!

My bike shop is waiting for Brompton to get stock of gear components from the factory. It seems they run out and the lead time for their components can be long for some things.

Of course if you’re doing your own repairs you can possibly spend more time trying to find out of stock items at Brompton from other retailers. A bike workshop isn’t going to do that, they’ve got too much work for that.

Of course Brompton fold is the best in the sector and it was a big invention when first developed. Now I do think it needs a bit of modernisation with the way it operates. More standard components please. Other brands do ok with standard kit on them.

  3. I bought two ADO’s for my kids and they’re the worse. Rusted in a week, wobble in the stem, cheap hydronic brake lines that leak, parts don’t fit correctly, and the paint peels off. The company does have decent support if it involves shipping a broken part.
