So it has been about 2 months and 2 weeks since I’ve been cycling due to my mtn bike crash and my wrist breaking. I’ve healed up now with proper care and was planning to go biking today. My dream of coming back to my favorite hobby is cut short when I realize my pedals didn’t spin. I take a look and noticed the chain is not aligned with the gear system and is wedged really tightly between the metals. How and what should I do to fix this safely? (Lmk if I need to get better angles)

  1. Try these one at a time until something works. Preferably (but not necessarily) in this order:

    1) Drop the wheel
    2) Disconnect the chain
    3) Yank
    4) Pry
    5) Bolt cutters
    6) Angle grinder
    7) Acetylene torch

this has happened to me couple times on my bike, usually undoing the axle and moving the wheel around/taking it out works for me
