Day 8 of my €20 Italian budget adventure 🚴🇮🇹
What started as a normal ride out of La Spezia turned into disaster. Just 5 km in, my back wheel gave a loud bang — broken spokes and even a cracked rim. One shop told me the only solution was a full wheel replacement.
I spent the day searching across town, going from shop to shop, until finally at the fourth bike shop I found a replacement wheel that would fit my touring bike. It was the only way to keep this trip alive and continue the journey south towards Rome.

It’s looking like my adventure is going to end here. Bad, bad, bad situation. Today started off like any other. I was ready to leave Laspetsia and continue cycling down the coast of Italy. My goodness, looking at my bike, the back wheel is doing some serious wobbling. But 5 km in, disaster struck. I heard a loud bang from the back wheel. I’m so annoyed. Since I broke one spoke in Switzerland, the back wheel has been weakening. I’m going to have to try and find a bike shop. The first mechanic told me the damage. So, not only have two spokes broken, but the back rim is cracked. So, I went to every shop in Lastetszia in search of a replacement wheel. Eventually, I found a replacement. Four bike stores later, and I have found one that will fix my bike. This one had a whole range of wheels. Please drop me a follow so you don’t miss out on the rest of the adventure. Let’s go.

Are you surprised my bike even made it this far without breaking? 🚴♂️
Oh no, how much was it?
You dont need to overpronounce "la spezia" so much. Is just like a single word and it's way less super mario. Just Laspezia.
