Hey everyone,

I ride a Trek Multitrack 730 and I’m looking for a steel fork with rack/fender mounts so I can set it up for touring. The steerer should be 1 inch (threaded or threadless is fine).

From my measurements, the axle-to-crown is about 405 mm – but if that’s not correct, please feel free to correct me.

Right now my favorite option would be the Stridsland Barnacle Fork. Has anyone here ever installed it on a Multitrack? How does it ride? Will it fit?

I’m curious – what forks have you all used on your Multitracks (or similar bikes)? Any recommendations or tips would be super appreciated! 🙏 And please let me see your builds!

Got a ’94 720. Sorry can’t help. I’ve had it 15 years and in various configurations but always used the stock fork. By the way…that’s a beautiful original finish. Jealous here. Had to have mine powder coated.

    What a gorgeous looking bike.

Probably only a used fork. Don’t see any new forks with those parameters in the web. Perhaps a fork from an older Trek 520. Though to get it though you probably have to get a whole bike 🙂

You would have to repaint it though, I would say, to maintain the esthetic balance that you have now.
