I got this bike off FB marketplace, everything’s fine except I’ve been noticing noise coming from the chain rubbing this part that it goes under
Done some research and most websites say it shouldn’t and I’ve looked at images and it is routed above rather than under, it’s a Shimano Deore XT Dyna-Sys 2 11 speed derailer
Any help would be greatly appreciated 😊

no.
Yeah it should go over that part you have circled in the fist pic
Nope
Loosen the bolt on the cage and put the chain above and put everything back… It will be a little tricky but I believe in you.
You need to have your chain above that small rail
If it’s rubbing it’s wrong. Nothing should be rubbing.
In front of the first jockey wheel and behind the second.
No
lol no
This thing is grinding…I was wondering if this thing that is grinding is correct?
I had this same derailleur, routed it the same way, and road for a month before realizing why it was shifting so poorly.
Like everyone else has said, it has to be routed around the piece you have circled.
This one looks a little chewed up too, so if it were mine I may file it flat and smooth too, or at least bend it glad with some pliers (assuming I’m seeing it correctly in the picture)
