I picked this up at an estate sale. I thought it was a Long Haul Trucker, but after checking the serial number, I am not sure.
The serial number starts with a Y but all the Surlys I have seen have a serial number that starts with M.
It has been repainted, it has 26” wheels, a kickstand plate, and a unique fork.

I don’t see how thats anything other than an LHT. Details looks exactly like [this bike on ebay](https://www.ebay.com/itm/296326017573?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=21527-227144-2056-1&mkcid=2&itemid=296326017573&targetid=307075688052&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=9197855&poi=9041155&campaignid=19723004616&mkgroupid=147765151153&rlsatarget=pla-307075688052&abcId=&merchantid=6296724&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=19723004616&gbraid=0AAAAAD_QDh9TyKDjPNTiaAcEEgE6xFQM-&gclid=Cj0KCQjw_rPGBhCbARIsABjq9ce9A2I1H7TKL7DTeGd-QENRr0ZTJsSxyZcDt-0U8W3s2XYbKL7J5EAaAoF9EALw_wcB).
Sick find, how much?
edit: on second though, not so sure. The rear dropouts dont match at all, and the LHT doesn’t have the braze-on cable route thingys on the top tube.
This is interesting, maybe an early prototype of the LHT? Thats gotta be a surly fork…
edit 2: nah the fork doesn’t match either, yours is way more raked. I spoke too soon, ignore my rambling…
It looks a lot like my Kogswell P/R.
A framemaker from the early 2000s.
Mine is black, but I think that is the “Kustard” factory color option that you have.

Screams surly long haul trucker to me
Definitely a BBB
Definitely a long haul trucker. I’d know that fork crown/dropouts anywhere. It must be pretty old, newer ones dont have the frame pump holder on the headtube. The age might explain the serial number issue
Nomatter what it is, it looks like a damn fine bike 🙂
Similar frame build and style to the Taiwanese factory that made my Brother a cycles. Nice!
