Hi All,

i bought a Aeroad CFR Frameset (2023 MY) and building my own dream bike. Unfortunately there is very little info from Canyon about certain parts and how they should be installed. Also all the documentation on their site is not helping me much.

On an Aeroad the saddle is attached to an adapter on top of the seatpost. There is one for round rails and one for carbon oval rails. Default they supply one for round rails with the frameset. One like this:

[https://www.canyon.com/en-nl/gear/bike-parts/spare-and-wear-parts/spare-wear-parts/canyon-gp0223-02-adapter-for-round-rails/10011479.html](https://www.canyon.com/en-nl/gear/bike-parts/spare-and-wear-parts/spare-wear-parts/canyon-gp0223-02-adapter-for-round-rails/10011479.html)

Only when you buy a frameset there is no instruction about how to mount the adapter. Assembly is not that hard, but i am wondering if i should apply grease, carbon assembly past or nothing between the round hole in the seatpost and the cone shaped piece of the adapter. I really want to do this the right way, because some people are having problems adjusting the adapter after a while (adapter can get pretty stuck).

Anyone found this info or has some experience with this? It’s also something you need to do when switching from round rails to oval or vice versa.

For reference: so what do i put inside the round (cone shaped hole). See image below.

Hope to hear from you guys!

Greetings,

Joost

  1. If either of the two parts (top of seat post and adapter) is carbon, I’d use carbon assembly paste.
