Let me introduce you to Nü Raspberry (replacing Blue Raspberry, which was stolen). It’s a 1981 Schwinn Collegiate, which was made in Taiwan by what became Giant. It’s basically a classic three speed with relatively light tubes and modern standards. Except for the 25.7 seatpost. That part’s weird.
I converted from the old steel rims in the semi obsolete 590 size to Velocity A23s in 650b laced to a modern Sturmey 3 speed hub and a dynamo hub up front. Set up tubeless with Gravelking slicks.
The thing hanging off the seat is a diy support for a Carradice bag.
It rides like a dream! I’ve been doing my 20 mile commute home on it for a few weeks now, at least a couple times a week!

Have an ~87 cruiser supreme. Also tiawan. Looks identical except mine is 26×2.4 and 5 speed. I find it comfy and springy. Tubeless 3 speed 650b conversion is epic.
26×1 3/8 to tubeless 650b conversion is epic.
I love Velocity. I think they make the a23 in every size from 20” to 29” and every drilling from 28-40 holes in most sizes. US made and not too hard on the wallet to boot. They make all my weird wheel building dreams come true.
Vintage steel, 3 speed igh, 650b, tubeless, dynamo… nice !
Which brakes are on there? Were they required for the 650b conversion?
I don’t know why, but I really wanted that to have a Sugino Mighty Tour crankset.
