Lauf grit suspension fork. I’m seeing quite a few of them lately (on the Lauf Seigla). Looks like one of the best gravel bike deals around, and the suspension is pretty well reviewed.

  2. Lauf. Really neat idea that works very well.

I ride in the heart of US gravel (near Emporia) and they are over the place.

The basic idea is to absorb shock but doing it low unlike future shock or red shift that do it high to provide less energy loss and better control.

It works and has a low weight penalty but they are not cheap.

Not sure if the fork is available as stand alone

That’s a lauf fork. It’s a reference to how bike companies can charge $1000 for 200+ year old technology

I think this type of leaf spring is brilliant for bicycles (no maintenance), but the cost is insane at the moment

  4. Works well on gravel, but poorly on bigger hits due to lack of damping. I had a 29″ trail fork but got rid of it recently.

I saw one of these for the first time, this weekend in Tahoe. Makes perfect sense they’re insanely expensive. lol
