I am looking into what my girlfriend's next bike should be. She is currently riding a 2019 Kona Process 153 27.5, which she got at a great deal on a few years ago. She is interested in upgrading. She is an intermediate rider living in Vail, riding mostly green and blue flow trails, but she does enjoy some moderate tech. I want her to feel safe on her bike and increase her ease of climbing (Kona has a 40-tooth lightest gear…). She bikes multiple times every week and deserves a bike that is confidence-inspiring. I am partial towards Specialized, as I love my Stumpy Evo very much, but the GT looks like a great deal. Would there be warranty issues with GT given their situation? Link for the specialized is broken.
I’m biased towards the specialized; it’s a bigger brand and in my opinion has more r&d associated with their products.
Why not put a bigger chainring on the Kona?
