Specifically the I brake setup and the cable routing with the saddle cable and clamp. It works? For now… these brakes literally have no instructions anywhere I can find online and the cable routing leaves a lot to be desired with the Ubrake on the bottom of the bike on the chain stays.

The brakes lock up, stop the bike and seem to work alright but want to get a second set of eyes on it before I send it fully.

Any help would be appreciated.

I mean, if it works, it works.

You could definitely turn the pinch bolt of the hanger so it’s in line with the cable. That’d help.

I’d also try setting the brakes a little wider so the straddle cable is longer.

But honestly, If it was my bike, and it was working, I’d leave it. But I’m lazy.

  2. The main cable should go through instead of around the bolt that is currently clamping it. You will find a small hole drilled through it when you back off the acorn nut enough.

I would flip the spacers on the pads so that the arms are more open at rest, this will give more room for the pulling clip. You could secure that clip a little straighter as well, but it’ll probably be fine for a while. I MIGHT worry about the short connecting cable getting too tight of a bend in use and prematurely failing, but that’s not super likely and periodic inspection would catch it.

I think N+1 is the better conversation. How many bikes do you have? I’m seriously impressed.

  5. Those are frustrating to set up. Every mm of cable needs to be accounted for. I agree with setting the pads with the wide spacers in to buy a little wiggle room.
