wanted to get a gravel bike to do some adventure riding and mixing hobbies together like biking and fishing. added a basket to the top peak mtx rear rack and make a custom plastic wedge slot that fits into the the mtx system and reinforced it with a steel plate and bolts and attached it to a milk crate and added a walmart brand kayak rod holder. lmk your thoughts and opinions and suggestions. would like to see your setups if have something similar

Pretty cool
I do the same thing. I have two rod holders mounted to the frame of my rear rack. I don’t use a basket as I prefer to use a backpack. But, the rods holders work great. The one thing I will recommend is you angle the rods back a bit in case you catch a stray limb or bush. Don’t ask me how I know this! LOL
I use these rod holders. [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AWJUTE?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_21](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AWJUTE?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_21)
They make them for fly rods as well.
Retirement dream setup 🙂
Basket needs a few fish
Now put a frame bag cooler for the fish you take home 🙂
Common at cape cod canal. Maybe consider some material under the basket to act as a fender?
I like it but in my experience you need to have the rods mounted horizontally. My route is to narrow and low hanging branches are a problem. Also I ditched the rod holder and use Velcro straps and vinyl coated wire twists to get the rod tight. Too much play in the rod holder was causing the reel to loosen at the seat as well as damaging the grip.
Valley Dairy is asking for their crate back…
That looks so cool!
