I’m completely new to BMX and looking to get my first bike. I’ve found a BMX for around £30 (pics below) and I’m wondering if it’s a decent option for a beginner.
I don’t want to spend a lot yet until I’ve learned the basics and a few tricks, then I’ll upgrade later. Since I’m new to all this, I’d love your advice, is this a good starter bike or should I keep looking?

Yeah, it’s not bad. It’s upgradeable as well. I’d take the front brakes off, but that’s me. i dont run brakes
it’s a Halfords bike, that sells for brand new for £180. So objectively it’s a pretty shit bike, made from the cheapest components they could find.
For £30 to see if you like BMX it’s fine, cos any bike is fine for that. But don’t waste money upgrading it, you’ll often find decent name bikes on ebay/marketplace for sub £200 when you’re ready to upgrade.
I would stay away from that threaded American bb you can find something better
Buy once cry once. If you’re on the fence about it. Go to a skatepark and make friends with the local riders there. Just ask them to putt around on their bike. Then go hop on a Walmart grade bike and you’ll feel the difference almost immediately. I went through hundreds of dollars because I was in the same mindset of “I’m not a pro, I don’t need a pro level bike” when in reality a proper bmx bike makes learning everything just way more enjoyable, you can bail and crash over and over and most likely just scuff it up whereas the bike in question will just constantly break and cost you more time and effort and money in the long run. Save your self the despair and head aches bro
I’m sure it’s the same bike that youtuber Billy Perry and his mates nearly turned into a pancake within the hour riding street on it. Not saying you’re going to be chucking 360’s down stairsets on it but it’s a cheap bike that’s barely suitable for cruising about.
You should be able to get much better value for money buying a used reputable branded complete on fb or ebay.
No
This bike is a bmx lookalike bike for children not suitable for actual bmx riding. It’s an injury waiting to happen
