  1. I'm 19 from Greece and I have a hard time getting discounts πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ how can you?! Truth is: if you're from the EU you can basically get in museums and monumental sites for free if you're under 25 years old. BUT about the ferries and the busses I'm not so sure. Busses don't give big discounts anyway, ferries do only if you are a uni student or a child. You can try showing them your uni card, but it's not a guarantee that it works for non-greeks

  2. Greece is NOT expensive, unless you're considering SANTORINI being Greece. I've been to Crere 7 times. I spent May through Sept there throughout the 1980s. I was there in 2023 for a month. Average tourist spends about $80 per day, on transportation, food, entertainment,. For 1 month staying at a villa with an upstairs and downstairs. 2 bathrooms. On beach. Kitchen. Crazy cold AC $2,700 for the month. A beachfront 1 bedroom hotel room would cost more than that in USA. Have you ever been to Crete? If you haven't, please go. Its not expensive. It's beautiful. The people are beyond welcoming. My ashes will be taken there for my eternal resting place. Santorini, that's another story. I witnessed the worse case of animal abuse I've ever seen. I went on a day trip from crete. I wish I would have read the reviews before going. So many reviews about the animal abuse. Since it's a volcanic island, there's no water produced on the island. Water is brought to the island. Those poor donkeys work all day, carrying lazy tourist to the top of the island until they just collapsed. Then, the donkeys are just push over into the sea. I literally had an anxiety attack. It was awful. Anyway, it's not expensive at all on crete.

  3. As an Australian who regularly visits Greece I base myself on Crete and book ahead cheap ferries. I often eat and drink at tavernas, don’t go to expensive restaurants or night clubs. Hire cars from local companies when needed. For me once I’m there it’s cheap.

  4. Most classic things and location are expensive, i will be on vacation to Greece or spend a lofe there if i have a honest and Godly woman from Greece, very beautiful, cool, calm and peaceful place i have always seen and heard

  5. About #2: If you are not renting a car and plan to use public transport, make sure no one is on strike during the time of your visit. You need to check this 3-2 days before your trip just in case airplanes/airports may also participate in the strike and to avoid any last minute changes (sometimes they decide to go on strike only a few days before).

  6. Don’t go to the tourist trap areas and the islands that are expensive because there are plenty of places that are incredibly beautiful and great places to live. I live in one of those places which is not far from Athens you stupid Americans.

  7. Ως έλληνας , που μένΡι ΞΊΞ±ΞΉ στην Ελλάδα , δΡν Ρίναι ΞΊΞ±ΞΈΟŒΞ»ΞΏΟ… ακριβά.
    Translation:
As a Greek , who lives in Greece , it aint expensive

  8. You are full of bs… I never had a meal that was over 5 euro and i used to pay only in cash, cocktails in athens were surprisingly cheap too… How about you don't say greece when you mean a specific tourist island?

  9. $60 all day at Zakynthos beach for a cabana fits 3 people i shade w/ service for drinks & lunch service , 1st rw from the water. free parking , HUGE FRUIT SALAD , HUGE .. For 4/5 PEOPLE $26 , that would be tripple any where else . just examples . If you are an adult making a decent wage , only pricey purchase is the flight to Greece. food & lodging not over the top at all !

  11. It's not expensive at all. In fact it's very affordable if you plan and budget properly. I'm from South Africa where cost of living has drastically increased and even many things in Greece are cheaper than they would be back home.
