I think Craig Y Allt is my favourite local hills around #Cardiff – great views and not as crowded as the Garth. Great for walking and great for mountain biking.

[Music] So this is a overflight of one of my favorite local mountains around Cardiff, Fly Al. [Music] It’s a great little ridge line walk and it’s also a great mountain bike trail where you can go across the ridge that you’re seeing here all the way across and all the way down the other side. [Music] This will be the first descent here. Bit rocky but a lots of fun. [Music] where you’ll have two options. You can go down the side of the left or go straight over the top and straight down. Whether that’s walking on your bike [Music] [Music] and as you can see great views from the top as well. You can see down into Cardiff and to the seven estri across to the calf and Taff Wells and all the way up to Pony and up to the Breham Beacons on a good day. [Music] Now we’re coming back across the ridge line and you can see Celli just across to your left there. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful place. [Music] [Music] Heat up Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] This view just encompasses all the great motorbike trails we have north of Cardiff. We’re just very lucky. [Music]

Loving the drone footage.
One of the last times I went up CYA, the woman from the livery tried to hit me and my friends with her Land Rover as we were riding the the gate. She was telling us it was her mountain and we were not allowed to ride bikes there. We ignored her as she screamed at us. She filmed everything on her phone – incriminating herself if anything. If I go up I now ride from Taffs Well side.
Great vid, thanks Prof! It's a beautiful spot. Probably got an interesting history as it seems to have been grazed previously but recently abandones agriculturally.. Considering how many built trails there are nearby it's suprising how few there are on Craig-yr-Allt but perhaps, as @sigmtb found, the agressive owner scares everyone off? I've never seen anyone up there.
