
I’m putting some Hope rotors on my road bike. I prefer the look of their MTB rotors (top). Any negatives of using these instead of their road rotors?
Clearance dimensions seem the same, per page 12 here:

These will be fine. The thing to look out for is 2.0mm thick rotors. Those are problematic for road bikes. At 1.8, these are all fine.
The road rotors look to have ever so slightly more thermal mass in the swept area, so if you do long fast steep descents they may be a bit less quick to fade (if you are a heavy braker).
If you are going to race make sure they are UCI compliant. I think that just means rounded edges instead of razor sharp corners. I assume most reputable brands are doing it for all their rotors. https://bikerumor.com/rounded-rotors-shimano-satisfying-uci-pro-peloton/
