I'm trying to get my brake disk off but the cassette removal tool does not reach the splines of the centerlock disk due to the axle cap. It appears the axle cap is not removable on this side (it moves up and down but I can't pull it out even with pliers), I can pull it off on the other side without issue. EDIT: It appears it can be removed in theory but it's wider at the bottom so I can't pull it past the centerlock opening.
Wheels are Ere Tenaci GX23. What do I need here? The removing the disk from the front wheel was no issue.

No, you need to pull the end cap first from the hub.
That’s why it’s easier to use external spline lockring for 12/15mm axles. Now you need longer and thinner tool

i have 2 cassette tools because of this.
although both have external splines of the same length, one from a generic bike maintenance kit,
another one has estimated 3-5mm more internal clearance (Toopre TP-217)
Joink that cap harder and make sure it doesn’t pull off. I’m not convinced yet
This is why the lock rings that use the bb tool are superior.
