So the first time I experienced a leak from the inner tube around this region, I figured it had to be because of the spoke nipples. So what I did was just get some rim tape and put 2 layers over it. I thought there was no way the tube would even touch the spokes at this point since it was completely shielded. But it happened again two other times. And part of me knew that maybe the rim tape wasn’t as effective as I thought but I also just hoped that it was because I didn’t properly patch the holes on the tube. Because every time I patched the holes, and I ripped the plastic wrapping that’s attached to it, it would also slightly rip off the edges of the patch. And usually, this would still be completely usable but I was just hoping that was the issue and I just needed to patch it better. But then came the 4th time patching it, I used a different technique that allowed me to seamlessly remove the plastic wrapping off without accidentally ripping off even the slightest bit of the patch, and I was sure I did it right this time. It held up for 1-2 days but unfortunately, it eventually started leaking once again.

I measured my rim to be just under an inch from side to side, I am using
I’m trying to visualize what’s happening inside the Tyre to cause this to happen. I’ve observed that it usually begins to go flat after a days time. I always pump the rear end up to 40-45PSI so I’m gonna guess the rim tape is only able to hold the tube from constantly pressing against it for so long before it eventually gives out and the tube makes contact with the spoke.

Some solutions I’ve thought about is to try and tension the spokes better, I don’t think I trued my wheel correctly since I’m new to this so maybe I’ve caused certain spokes to protrude farther into the rim than it should be. And then I guess another solution is to try and reinforce the rim with more tape or maybe get a different rim tape. Any ideas and suggestions would be much appreciated, Thanks.

Inner Tube keeps tearing around the inner side.

Show us some pics of the inside of your rim.
There has to be something sharp in there.

Also 40 psi is low! 20 psi is like riding a flat tire.
