Behold the pinnacle of fork tech. Circa 1990’s.
Was riding with some younger co-workers the other weekend. Spent time helping tune their suspension as we ripped, got tired of the complaining about high end components and cost vs. performance, when the settings were just messed and not fully utilized.
Results were less jawing, more riding and hollering. Less bucking, arm pump and hand fatigue, with more confidence through proper tracking.
Had a laugh about it with a couple buds, we came up racing and ripping through the 90’s with elastomeric forks and cantilever brakes. Although they make riding better and more enjoyable, they are such a luxury to have. All the manufactures have info out there, seek it out, learn how it works and play with it. Have fun.

I just rebuilt my Manitou 4 last year. I’m of the age most anything now is too high tech and under utilized.
Back when suspension forks were beautiful! I had a Manitou 2 as my first fork, then a long travel Mag21. They both sucked ass, but they were amazing at the time.
Don’t be surprised when they turn up as the next big gravel fad.
