Welcome to highlights of stage 20 of the Valta Espña destination, the Bula del Mundo. The final mountain stage and so much up for grabs. Can Yonasfingo hold on to his red jersey over a brutal course? 4,200 m of elevation, but relatively relaxed at the start, but things were soon going to change. Let’s have a look at the route. Starting in Roda de Shavea, two third category climbs straight away. Then a second category climb before the kick up. The first descent of the Nava Sala climb. Then we approach it from the different direction heading up the Bula del Mundo. Well, a big breakaway went early on. Very high speeds from the off. Eddie Dunar at the front there. Mikuel Lander also in this group. Julo Chicone also there, but the gap wasn’t too much over the Pelaton. Never went above 2 minutes and it was UE Emmerit who were keeping the chains very tight. Evo Olivera and Mikuel Bier doing a lot of the early pacemaking. They were also joined by Red Bull Bora Hansrower. But it was a relatively calm day up to this point for a race leader Yonas Vingo. team Vizma Lisa Bike in defense mode and not having to do any riding at all. So over the first climb of the day, Colossus Verona driving and deeper into the race, it was time for our first descent of the Nava Serada and our breakaway started to fragment the gap to the leaders down to around about a minute and a half. Still being driven hard by UAE team Emirates wanting to make a very difficult day for all concerned including Yonas Fingo. Eventually we had about 12 riders up in front. Mikilandanda was there and then going over the first ascent of the Nava Sada. The group split into two before the drop down the other side. Two groups emerged over the top. 106 to the Pelaton. There was a demonstration, a Pro Palestine demonstration that nearly brought the riders to a halt. Most of the riders did get through unscathed, although there was a brief delay for the convoy before the race got underway again. At the other side, Mikuel Lander opened up a small lead of 13 seconds. The group now at 1 minute and 15 containing our race leader Yonas Bingo. Then a couple of riders bridged across. Mikuel Lander was joined by Julia Chukonei and Egan Banal and also Jardy Vaneri of EF Education Easy Post approaching the final climb. Vanderly was distanced soon after was Egan Banal and Julia Chicone tried to take off on his own but he was soon rejoined by Mikuel Lander. A quick glance and the two were away still holding a lead of just over a minute before the steep slopes really started to kick up. Good ride by Felis Grach Hartner there for UEIE before it was Jayvine. The man in the polka dot jersey. Two stage wins in the back pocket for him was driving hard. The pace was too much for Julio Pelazari. The man in the white jersey for Red Bull Bora Hansro was to have a difficult day. Onto the final 3 km of the concrete slopes of the Bola del Mundo. One of the hardest sections of road in cycling. Narrow, striated, full of the crowds. It’s urging on these riders and it was indeed Xiao Almeida who took it up like he did the other day on the angry loop trying to force open a gap between him and Yonas Fingo but it was Jai Hindley who was riding well the man from Red Bull Borah trying to get himself onto the podium at the expense of Tom Pigcock. He lit up started to split the group. It was a real fight to stay in contact. Matthew Ricatello just off the back of this group and Tom Pickock riding the race of his life to hold on to that podium spot. But still the Australian pressed hard on the doubledigit gradients and then with about 1.2 km to go it was Yonas Vingo with a seated effort an explosive turn of speed into the hairpin that took him clear of everybody else showing what a champion he really is. Two stage wins already in the bag. A difficult couple of days, but now back to his best as he ripped up these steep slopes soon opening up and a significant gap on the riders behind. Tom Pigcock still trying to stay in control there. Matthew Ricatello had distanced Pelari and was looking to move himself up the general class classification to fifth and into the white jersey. But there was no stopping Yonas Fingo the man in the red jersey adding another stage win and barring accidents the Lavoa title. What a ride it was. An ehatic statement from the man from Denmark. What a ride by Yonas being able to take his third win of this Walter and ultimately the title as well. Septus his teammate there in second, Joe Hindley in third and Tom Pigcock salvaging that podium spot with fourth place. Almeida home in fifth and just behind him the young American Matthew Ricatello. So job done for Yonas Fingo. What a race it has been. And look at what it means to him. punching the air with delight, a cathartic release of joy. He adds the Waltar to his two titles at the tour front. So confirmation of the stage, Yonasfingo takes the winner, have his teammate Seep Curse. Then we have Hindley, Pitcock, Almeida, Ricatello, Vine, Chicone Lur, and Pickering. It means a lot to me. Uh it’s the first Walter uh for me and it’s the first Grand Tour for me in uh yeah in two years. So yeah, to come back also from from everything that I that I’ve went through in in in the last few years is actually really nice for me and nice that I can be here and I can show that I’m really still on a on a really high level. Oh, for sure I will re remember the fight I’ve had with with Chu. He’s super strong rider and he he showed it here as well. He really uh put me on the limit uh sometimes. So yeah, it’s been a really nice fight actually and I I enjoyed it. Well, big smile on the face of Yonas Fingo there and that’s confirmation. One more day in Madrid. Bingo extends his lead over Xiao made it to 116 and Tom Pigok solid there in third place. So one more day, one more red jersey and the title will be his. No wonder he looks relaxed. No wonder he looks happy. [Music] So the other classifications then Jay Vine secures the king of the mountains 61 points to Yonas Vingo’s 56 points and remember the Australian also the winner of two stages and a very close second in the tantrol. No wonder the Aussie is smiling but he can’t wait to get back to his family. One more day in Madrid for the man of the polka dots. So talking in Madrid, let’s have a look ahead to the final stage of this year’s VA. Starting in Alpardo, we head to Madrid for 10 laps of a 5.8k circuit. A rolling parkour up and down on the finish. Will it be one for the sprinters? Will it be one for the break? It’ll be our final stage of what has been a magnificent race so far. Do not miss it.

  1. I say this as a cycling fan, the Spanish protesters have been brilliant all tour and have put a lot of other European countries to shame. Cycling is not more important than innocent people, including many children, being killed, and that is the end of the story. IPT should have pulled their sponsorship months ago. These protests are on them.

  2. It's hilarious how they can barely pedal after the finish line. That section must be insane. Impressive effort from all of them and great to see that it was actually pretty close.

  3. Not a pro Palestine protest but a demonstration in support of murder, rape and terror. So sad what Spain has become a home for an apocalyptic political cult of death aka Hamas.

  4. I’ll recall many a protest in TDF where the network/organizers would show no images and never mention the cause….For obvious reasons. Literally the second you commentator failed in this regard I shut down the video.

  5. Israel premier tech has nothing to do with the ongoing war, they’re a professional cycle team. Go and protest in Israel if you’re that passionate about it you annoying idiots, although I doubt you know anything about what’s going on.

  6. Pro Palestine trying to disrupt the riders are cowards- and will hurt one them soon. Then we in a different game- and they will play even more victim when they feel retribution.
    It is coming
