It’s easy to put the bike away when rain is forecast, but cycling in wet weather is totally doable. Here’s a beginner friendly guide to help you get started. Firstly, invest in a good raincoat or even a rain cape, something with proper Goreex, or a rain membrane of 5,000 or above. Waterproof socks, waterproof gloves, and over shoes can be added to keep your feet and hands dry, too. An essential wet weather upgrade to your bike is mug guards. They help keep water and dirt from splashing up at you, and they keeps your bike cleaner, too. We recommend fulllength mud guards for maximum dryness. Adding waterproof bags like this is great for transporting a dry change of clothes for after your ride. While cycling in the rain, try and avoid riding in puddles as sometimes they can hide deep potholes or debris. Don’t forget to turn your lights on too to make sure you stay visible through the downpour. And after your ride, make sure to wash your bike. Riding in rain splashes dirt and grit onto your bike and that ends up causing damage and wear. Now you’re ready for anything the rain gods want to throw at
