Your research should include the current status of bike shops’ willingness to service brands that aren’t supported by their suppliers.

Make up your own mind, but it looks like a right mess.

  2. Why not go to your local bike shop (look at reviews) and see some bikes in person and get advice from the shop. Build a relationship that you’ll need for service as well.

How much are you willing to pay? As I would say, if you’re buying your first bike, go for something secondhand, 1 it’s cheaper to get something nice for your money, 2 if you damage it it’s not cost you as much as a new bike, 3 a lot of people go out and buy a brand new bike and only ride it afew times then leave it somewhere to rot or end up selling it at a loss, 4 having it stolen as again a lot of people send 1000s on a new bike but then pay pennies for a lock so with a used bike it’s not so much of a hit to the wallet, 5 getting a used one means you can upgrade it with better parts without over spending as if you’ve got a certain amount of money to spend, ie if you’ve got $1500, you can buy a $800-900 bike then you’ve $600-700 to upgrade it.
