So my e-bike is now a part of the crime scene at UVU, and likely won't be released to me until Monday. It's supposed to rain before then. I've contacted the school, they've said that because of its proximity to the incident, they can't release it yet. (Image is a screenshot from a video of Kirk being rushed to a car)
This is my only method of transportation, and now it's sitting outside in the elements, surrounded by FBI agents, longing for the garage it once knew…
Anyways, should I have any concerns after leaving my bike (and helmet and lock) out in the elements for several days?

Bikes are ment to be used outdoors in all kinds of weather. A few days outdoors shouldn’t hurt anything.
Just say “ope, lemme squeeze right by ya” and go get it, that usually works*
* may not be 100% effective on the FBI
Oh thats lame. See if they would let you throw a tarp over it.
That’s the price we have to pay for the second amendment, appearently /s
S-tier bcj post
When you get access to it again, just check the chain for surface rust – that’s all that happened to my bike when it was stuck outside for a few rainy days. It came out fine after a good wipe and re-lube followed by a bit of riding.
Have you considered walking up to whatever LEO is watching the scene and asking?
Evergreen Police have already told students and staff that while the parking lot at the high school is a crime scene, they can still retrieve their cars after jumping through a few hoops.
That happned to me in London with my motorbike, had to get it the next day.
well, look at the good news. With that many officers and agents around, it’s probably very safe there.
No one answered the question lol. Bike and lock should be cool. For helmet it depends. If you have any linings inside the helmet they can get wet and stink. Full foam is fine AFAIK. Get yourself a can of WD40 btw.
Thank you for circling it OP, I would’ve never guessed which one was your bicycle in this pic
Oh, so you want your bike, do you??
Don’t get too inconvenienced by an assignation
I ..am guessing it will be fine . Probably best to clean and oil the chain later . If you’re handy, also some other cables and friction points
Basically if it were me I’d be like ”damn” but then say “oh well it’s just one rain”
Could you go there and wait for someone in person and ask very nicely? If they say no go back later and ask someone else.
We just going to ignore the guy in the white t-shirt and black pants levitating above the back SUV?
