I just wanted to share today's small victory. I picked up road biking last week (I used to ride quite often from '13-'14) with my rides now typically consisting of six miles at a thirteen / fourteen mph pace. Today I focused specifically on a slower average speed but double the distance of my usual ride. I'm absolutely thrilled to say the least! The last time I completed a twelve mile bike ride was circa 2015. I could not be anymore happy that I set a goal and hit it!! I know my pace is slow, but I'm just getting back into it. My goal for one month from today is to complete twelve miles at a sub one hour time.

  1. Nice. Smart to dial back the pace if you are trying to go further than before. I’m bad at doing this. Keep it up!

  2. Fuck yeah! Keep at it and you’ll make strides. I’ve mostly been a bike commuter, but got myself a nice road bike recently. Instantly hooked. Going for longer and longer rides and making incredible progress in just a month.

  3. Good for you! My best advice is to try to stay into Zone 2, you’ll be amazed of the results in the medium to long term.
