[Music] the start live as he makes his way through the wheels. Ladies and gentlemen, we welcome a rider who has won the tour of France. Ladies and gentle twice champion, Conell games champion and much much more. We welcome Gerard Thomas. Six and four bonus seconds on the line. Our breakaway group cannot look around at each other at all. They’ve just got to give a full straight drag race to the line and try and sprint off the high speed. If they look around and mess about that Pelaton behind will be right on them. Fred Wright looks back over the shoulder. Fred Wright now launches the sprint for the line. They’re looking back. He’s waiting to go. Tran now leading it out. Johansson on the wheel. Here comes the pelaton and they’re leading it out. Brennan is there. Here comes Olaf Koi. Olaf Koy coming through there moves up. He’s trying to find his way through. Olaf Koi takes it. And it looked like Fred Right. Sam Watson getting himself up there. The charge right on the line. Perfect lead out from Matthew Brennan for Olaf Koi. Frustration yet again for Fred Wright. Oh, here he is. And there we have it. The curtain comes down on the career of Garan Thomas. What a rider. Lizzy, I’ll let you. I mean, what a career. What a man. Yeah, I’m also emotional watching him. What a moment for him. Um, he really deserves this. Yeah. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Woohoo! And this is your podium of the Lloyd’s tour of Britain. Julian Adaf and the winner of this year’s race from group FDJ. Great moment for Roman takes the win. [Music] Great podium. G a question that I don’t know how many times you must have been asked. I mean, how are you feeling? Well, I was emotional crossing the line. It was uh I was riding through Burst Grove and all the fans. I was just like almost like choking up uh riding my bike, which was weird. And then um yeah, it’s across the line. I’m with Swifty who was uh who I’ve raced with since we were 12. Um so yeah, it all came out then. And then speaking to S4C was just like all I couldn’t even speak you know so I had to but um it’s definitely emotional super special though I’ve been saying since since it was announced the route really that you know to finish here is just unbelievable really and the fans and everything is just like the sport I’ve had over the years is incredible. So it’s to finish here is like full circle and you know ride past Mandy we’re about okay to go uh where it all started. It’s no better way and just listening to those fans. I mean that must mean such a tremendous amount to you personally. Yeah it’s unreal the atmosphere riding in and you know up Kiny Mountain and all week well all a lot of the years I’ve been racing but especially today and yesterday was just insane and you know just riding through here then and the amount of people and you know just going nuts. It was uh as I say, it’s just mad that people care that much about seeing me do well as what I do really. So, it was it was just meant so much. And uh yeah, what can I say? It’s uh what a way to finish. And of course, the Welsh weather did its expected thing for you today, but I guess that didn’t really bother you. No, we were lucky to be fair. It kind of stopped. I don’t think it rained too much during the race and uh it was just wet roads and it was just uh well yeah it’s got to be at least wet at some point, haven’t it? So what’s next for you? Oh well go to the castle next and then go to Tiny Rebel in Cardiff, have a good night with the boys and then um I just switch off for a bit. Go back go take this lad to school on uh Tuesday. So um yeah, back to normality. Got my brother staged in Portugal as well actually. So, but yeah, just be a bit um switch off for a bit. Really, do stuff that I don’t really ever get to do. So, um it’ be nice. Well, congratulations and I’m sure there’s a very welldeserved break coming up. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. Thanks a lot. [Music]
