Send photos to a specialist repair shop. They will tell you whether it’s worth repairing. Looks bad to me but might be repairable.
PS. I wouldn’t be riding it in this state, definitely a no-no off road. That brace will be putting a lot of pressure on the top tube near the fault.

That’s a parts bike. No way I’d ever get on that frame no matter what repair job was done
Greedy_Pomegranate14 on
I would do neither. A carbon repair will cost you more than you paid for the bike, and it’s still an old bike that won’t work that well.
You don’t want to ride a bike with a crack in the frame, that’s a deathwish.
Also I’m not sure if you noticed, but there’s supposed to be air in that rear shock.

I hope someone never sold that to you that looks like an absolutely fucked up carbon top tube. Get your money back if you paid anything..

If somebody sold that bike to you in that condition, you’ve been taken advantage of. You might be able to pull some parts off it but that frame is done.

You arent repairing that carbond damage. That bike frame is cooked

Im sure it will be very expensive to get it repaired but what about DIY?
Why are all so scared of a frame snapping? Is it that dangerous? Is carbon that unpredictable?
Im new to MTB I only driven motocross and surron style bikes untill now (no experience with carbon)

I’m just looking at that saddle angle and my balls go numb

Repair? Like with glue? No. You should give it to someone you hate

Sorry man that frame is done. Don’t ride it, don’t sell it or even give it away.
You could look into getting it fixed but really an old bike like that is ready to retire.
cascajal on
Very nice bike, but she is gone, don;t even ride it. Maybe getting another similar used frame?
l008com on
Is there an option C? Go with C. Thats not fixable and its definitely not rideable.

Just kidding, that is done!

Git yerself some duct tape and give it a few wraps. You’ll be good to go lickity split….

Is this a serious question or are you mocking past posts of the same thing? 🤔

Repair it by buying a new frame, that one is toast. Call Specialized, tell them about the issue, maybe they can sell you a new old stock frame, although it looks like a 2009, thats pretty old.
Psyko_sissy23 on
You can ride it all the way to the crash site…

I hope this is a troll post. Dude, you CANNOT ride this.

Thats a crack on the top tube.
I would not risk it. Bike has been in a serious accident. I would not ride it. Could end up getting castrated. Remember « Safety First «

Looks like it would barely support your body weight while sitting still.

Don’t ride it. You can look at fixing, but buying new frames might be more economical.

Do you want carbon fiber slivers in your dick? If the answer is yes, go for a ride!
That frame is toast and shouldn’t be ridden. Find a carbon repair shop if you love the bike enough to keep it.

Roll the dice with a curb drop and report back on the bike you really bought

Riding it is not really an option. Fix it or trash it.

That can be repaired maybe $400-700, but spending that on this bike may not be worth it, like if there are good used bike options where you could use this money towards instead. One of my mtbs had carbon damage that has been professionally repaired and it’s solid!
Well The shock seems also busted…I put air in it but still come to the bottom after a while
SLASH_PL on
I mean if you only want to ride it on flat ground to the grocery store then maaaaybe it’ll be fine but like others are saying, this top tube looks like it’s gonna snap after riding off a curb so I wouldn’t take my chances and just get a new frame.
