Found this one in rough condition. Changed the gearing, added a short stem, some Nitto drops, first-gen Dura Ace bar end shifters, Tricolor brake levers, old Ritchey clipless pedals, and some new rubber. Also a Velo 7 computer cause it just seemed like the right move.
I was definitely the only person friction shifting and canti braking in the race. Wasn’t the fastest, but I had the funnest. Ought to make a nice gravel ripper with a wider range cassette as well.

I did my first cross race on an 80’s Univega road bike I had converted to single speed. The sport changed quite a lot over the years I was racing, even the C group started showing up in bodysuits and full carbon rigs.
Glad to see someone still bringing vintage steel to a race.
