How much? Like a mm or two, fine.. more than that, I’d be concerned. Can you add spacers somehow?
I’ve cut a piece of pvc pipe to length and locked the axle around that when I’ve flown with bikes in the past so they don’t get squished.
If it’s just compressed a bit and the bike is well protected, it’s probably fine. But if there is any risk that the chainstays could be further sandwiched together, you should install a spacer
You can DIY a solution if you like, but there are devices available for this exact purpose.
