  1. You might be able to get someone to weld it up but that breaking will have stressed all the other welds on the frame, especially the main triangle, as it flexed apart.  You’re better off getting a new frame.

  2. No, can’t be welded – it would just fail again quickly.

In theory you could do a carbon fibre repair but you’d need to know what you’re doing and it would look pretty chunky and add a good bit of weight.

In essence, it’s a bin job. Many companies will offer a cheaper replacement frame in circumstances like this where the frame is out of warranty.

  3. Duct tape will buff that right out.

In other news, this is a lie and your frame is toast. I bought a classic bike with alloy dropouts and found the dropout was bent… it’s a write off.

  4. Try the quarter test – take a quarter and tap it on the frame. Then put the quarter in your pocket and contact Specialized for a warranty claim because this frame is trashed.

  5. This is not fixable in a way that is economically viable, and it would not be as strong as before.

Buying a bike (or even just a frame) every 7 years could just be seen as the cost of the commute.

This is why I only ride carbon frames 😁 Sorry but I’m just trolling. I hear anti carbon rants every time a cracked frame is displayed here. To the OP- Sorry about your breakage.

I had a buddy who had a similar failure on his AL Diverge, he’s also not a small guy, and does a TON of miles. The LBS he bought the bike from ended up getting him a deal on a warranty replacement and he got a new carbon Diverge to replace it. If you’re the original owner, I’d 100% talk to your local spec dealer to see what they can do.
