Whilst the intent of this advertisement is well meaning, the image shows riding within 1.2m of parked vehicles which is extremely dangerous, risking dooring or suddenly riding into traffic to avoid dooring as well as close passing. Its more appropriate and much safer to “take the lane”. I suggest the NSW Government asks regular cyclists to review such advertisements prior to their publication.

Looks like around 1.5 meters to me.
Doesn’t look bad to me at all.
I don’t understand the perspective. Why are we looking out the passenger-side mirror?
It’s parked cars, but im assuming this is (in a car-normative society) looking from the view of a driver in a parked car to avoid dooring someone (since legally the onus is on the door opener).
She is also not wearing any eye protection. Very difficult to ride safely when a piece of rock or glass gets kicked up from a passing car and stabs your eye.
Begging drivers to follow the law has never worked. Governments will do anything except actually build safe roads.
Pic looks much more like London than Sydney too
