looking at the machine in detail I I have a question to ask you since I have also been asked this question a lot on social networks in any case you asked me this question the board today I believe its price is 3990 € including tax excluding transport it is that’s how you do compared to the competition to have such a price on your eye board in fact it comes from a desire concretely it’s at Whimsitech we have always wanted to offer this activity to as many people as possible and therefore we started the design with this idea in mind to really make a product that was as effective and efficient as possible in terms of cost and so everything was designed to be minimalist without degrading the flight sensations ok so let me explain in fact we minimized the number of parts we maximized the functions with the elements for example the battery is both a floor fixing connector so in fact we pool the functions on the sets which allows us today to have an extremely competitive price and you are based in the Marseille region if I’m not saying anything stupid, that’s right next to Auagne and so everything is done in France so no in France what we do is assembling the engine is essentially in France since it is patented so we manufacture the parts in France and we assemble it in France and then all the assembly elements are made in France we receive the spare parts and we and here we go let’s go so Étienne when we buy a feather foil what are we buying in fact we buy the kit essential to be able to do electric foiling, namely a board, motorized equipment, a battery and all the chargers which are associated OK and so the covers are optional, here is the cover, it is quite an option so we deliver the elements in boxes extremely well packaged ok now action assembly of the foils come on we start with the board yes so the board is in this cover so you have different colors I believe of boards available yes we have red blue white and black and everything is in matte everything is in matte varnish the board comes with three handles that you can mount wherever you want and the basic equipment, namely an automatic decompression valve and an anchor for the leash now of the fuselage so we have a tuttle at the bottom which allows ‘have an extremely rigid recess which is held by two screws so always with the same key we mount it and we now move on to assembling the front so there is a stud which is recessed and perfectly matches the shape of the wing to minimize drag as much as possible ah yes so that’s good you don’t have to turn the efoil over you can mount it on top that’s it everything is mounted on top there so before putting the battery you have to do a little manipulation I think that’s it we will end up with the antenna which is completely offset which is located at the front of the board to minimize as much as possible the connection losses which will be connected to the mast it’s quick to do it’s quite quick so this is the only connection that there is to plug in everything else is done automatically when you connect the battery to the board then the battery is precisely so the battery is found in the last bag just like its charger so it’s a slow charger that we provide as a base yes then it’s the same I suppose you have two chargers available yes we have a fast charger for the impatient or the professionals which allows you to recharge the battery in 1 hour 30 minutes compared to approximately 3 hours 30 minutes on the charger supplied in base OK and battery level you have different battery sizes and power and other we offer three batteries so in base one in configuration of base a battery which is 33 AMPH and then we decline it in more powerful with more autonomy each time namely 42 AMPH and 50 AMPH in the end we increase each time the autonomy and the duration of flight and of the session of the user ok the same in price level each time the options are paid but the basic configuration being the lightest it is the one which offers the most sensation in use so with the basic battery how long do we fly approximately with we are on 1 hour 1 hour 30 session on the basic battery and then we will increase the autonomy by 25 and 50% with the other two the other two proposals so the battery is it’s plug and play as you so clearly specified we have a small cap that we remove which protects the connector inside the battery and then we slide it into the board we insert the battery fully until ‘at the end and then we screw the battery into position with the four screws which are at the ends ok to secure the battery and not lose it on the way yes that’s it it’s nicer like that so Étienne we got me I thought I also read that you had a specificity on the engine that’s I saw ceramic bearings if I do n’t say stupidity that’s it that’s exactly that so those are the bearings that will come transmit the efforts we have in fact filed a patent on the motor which uses an innovative architecture and which has the stroke of ceramic bearings which we can see here and at the rear and the particularity is that it is the water which lubricates the bearing and which also cools the motor by passing inside the motor because that was my next question how how the motor is cooled then the motor is cooled passively in fact it is the flow of water which will cool the entire board whether it is the motor passing inside the controller speed which is hidden in the mast or the battery which is also submerged so I just come back to the propellers you only have propellers with retractable blades yes it was essential for us in fact at the start of the feather project to have a safe element and the fact of having retractable propellers when you fall into the water it retracts automatically and instantly which means that you no longer have dangerous rotating elements so it is already an extremely important safety contribution and then the fun side of this solution is that when you have a fairly strong swell you can completely cut off the power and you minimize the drag of your boat with that so that’s really the best option for surfing is really great and this sensational gain in fact my dear Étienne obviously to prepare this video I went to look at your website and I discovered that you had a wing foil option so what is this option in fact it’s really a specificity of the Plume is that it can be used both as an electric foil and as a wing or even as a surf foil so for that we remove two things the mast with the motor and the box with the battery we remove them simply replace it with an empty box yeah and a mast without motor ok and you also have a wing available if we want so we have a wing offered which is 5 m² and which allows you to discover this activity but the pack you can buy the pack without the sail you can buy everything separately i.e. a surf foil wing foil use but with a wing that you already own or a kit together with or a pack together with the wing offered inside ok that’s great it’s a nice option so we haven’t yet talked about the shape of this tail of the board is what you can because it is quite specific why having made such a shape it comes from the desire to have a product which is hybrid and therefore which must be able to operate both as an efoil with a couple which is at the bottom as a wing foil, namely with the wing towed or towed behind a boat and in fact to try to combine all of this we have a mast which is extremely advanced we have a reduction at the rear so as not to stick to the water when we come to do splashes and above all we have a double concave at the front for water intake and a very tight tail at the rear for the speed gain ok because frankly the tail is really very worked and very cut out we were quite inspired by the wingfoil tails where precisely we have this need for speed of gliding on the water for the grip speed and take off very quickly before I go into the water you quickly explain the remote control to me so it’s a very simple remote control to use it is a proportional trigger so once you start it by pressing the button you will unlock it and then your trigger will allow you to manage the power of the board OK and so above we have the battery charge information charge of the remote control and its speed that’s it and the last information which is the distance covered during the session ok well that’s very good there’s just one more thing to try the machine so there’s just one more thing to do, let’s go and here I’ll tell you what I think about it live because it’s brand new there is the little microphone and which will allow me I hope to be able to comment to you live what I’m doing and what I think of the machine I’m accelerating gaining speed I I lean well on the front, come on, and then I take off and I move back a little, I move my feet back, the controller is really nice, it’s a classic controller, but this one, unlike others that I won’t mention, I think that this controller is really the best today so the machine makes a little noise but hey it’s still very nice I like the information on the battery power on the board so there you see I’m spinning it’s spinning really well I have a 1300 cm2 foil as soon as I’m on the wave it’s a little dizzy I have to I move back afterwards I have to try to get the shot with the speed take the wave speed up to find the right positioning of the feet I’m too far forward in the waves you have to move back a little bit and above all it turns really well look without pressing without forcing it turns on its own which is really a good thing I have good sensations the waves the board the stability maybe given the foil in 1300 we might need a board a little smaller but I think that they will soon develop slightly smaller boards.   1. Intéressant. J'ai juste pas compris pourquoi il faut reculer les pieds dans les vagues, c'est le contraire du wingfoil et du kitefoil. C'est juste car le stab est petit par rapport à la frontwing?

  2. Super info , je découvre le Plume qui va j'espère apporté à la pratique du efoil avec donc une troisième marque Française pour la discipline. J'aime bcp l'hélice rétractable pour jouer à surfer les vagues qui est pour moi essentiel en efoil sur tout super spot de st Cyr ! Merci pour la vidéo et au plaisir de découvrir ce nouveau jouet.

  6. Du point de vue sportif, ça me paraît assez médiocre, comparé à tous les autres engins à foil. Mais c'est normal, c'est l'époque qui veut ça, le refus déterminé de tout effort. Sur ces bidules, on devrait pouvoir lire ses mails, regarder la télé, boire des bières. Malgré tout, peut-être un progrès si ces choses sont moins bruyantes que les f… Jet-skis. 😇
