Good morning. It’s uh about half past 6. Still raining. I heard the fisherman going out this morning. Probably about 4:00. Uh seagulls are going crazy. Yeah, it’s looking pretty bleak out there. Um was hoping it was going to calm down this morning for a walk around the town, but it’s not looking good. Going have to uh make it a bit of a plan for the day. Not sure what that’s going to be yet. Um, yeah, it might be a matter of just putting the waterproofs on and just getting on with it. Suppose it can’t all be sunshine. I’ve not done bad really. Anyway, let’s get dressed, have some breakfast, make a decision on what we’re doing. The temperature is nice to be fair. That’s the only good thing, right? See you guys in a bit. looking for a walk down there to the harbor. And even in this mizzy, misty morning, it’s still so peaceful. So nice and quiet as well. Not many people out. I think the fishermen are out and the uh the holiday makers, the tourists aren’t out yet. And there’s just a couple of runners and that’s about it. And it is uh yeah, so quiet. There’s the uh there’s the the harbor with all your private boats. Um and then this side straight straight out to sea. So peaceful. So peaceful. So yeah, I thought I’ just come for a walk, try and get some photos. Um, bit of fresh air. Still a bit drizzly, but it’s calming down a bit, so hopefully it’ll clear. I’ll take you for the walk with me. Hey, hey, hey. [Music] That would do me right there. Lovely little catamaran. We gone that. That would be amazing. Maybe that’s the next adventure. We can dream [Music] So, how many of you get to go on a cable car to work there? Look, cable car meets in the middle. How cool is that? It’s absolutely chucking it down. Oh, right. Back under the tree. See the uh the fort in the background there? There’s a naval base to the other side. But it is miserable. Hoping it calms down before I uh before I have to leave the hotel. Otherwise, it’s going to be a long day. I’ve just checked the weather forecast and it says it’s just going to be cloudy. Doesn’t say anything about this. So, hopefully it’ll clear. But hey, we’re still away. We’re still on an adventure. It can’t all be plain sailing. I’m smiling. That’s the main thing cuz even though it’s weather, it’s still pretty cool. So, that was my hotel for the night. The Ibis Budget was okay. Got underground parking, secure parking. It’s good. and it is just on the harbor. So, pretty good location. So, that was the hotel Ibis in breast. We’ll say it was good. You got uh underground private private parking here. Uh secure, which is always nice. Oh, opens for you. That’s good. So, I’m going to head towards uh Samalo today. I need to go and get some fuel first. It’s screaming at me. I think I’ve got 20 mi left in the tank. So, we’ll go and get some fuel. and then we’ll be on our way. And it looks like the sun might be trying to come out, which is a bonus. So, I’m risking it. I’ve not put my waterproofs on yet, but they are in my uh back box ready to go on if I should need them, which I’m hoping I won’t. So, let’s go and get some fuel, get on our way. [Music] See you in a bit. Shall we be a big kid? Yeah. [Music] Oh, made it to the petrol station. 9 miles left to go. That’s the closest one yet. Right, it’s just started chucking it down again. So, I’m going to put the waterproof trousers on. And I’ve already got the jacket on, but I’m going to put the trousers on just to preempt getting drenched. Even though it said it wasn’t going to rain. It’s that fine mizzy stuff, but it still rain. So, let’s get the trousers on. The one thing I brought that hoped not to use, but I am very glad. Oh, I’ve got them. Yep. Balance of an old man. Maybe that’s cuz I am an old man. Remember your yoga. That’s it already. You watch the sun will come back out now. Right. Take it easy on these roads cuz they’re probably greasy. I bet they don’t get wet that often. Take your time. No rush. Got your waterproofs on. Not going to be anywhere fast. Enjoy the ride. I think I’m going to stop in a minute and uh take these cameras off before they get too wet and cause any problems. Try and find somewhere where there’s a bit of shelter. Positively chucking it down. Who ordered this? Your sister will be well impressed. She’s uh she’s on the ferry tonight. Coming over. Uh no, there’s no shelter there, is there? She’s on the ferry tonight with my parents coming over. Um and if they turn up to rain, I don’t think she’ll be best impressed. So hopefully by tomorrow this is cleared and they get to have a bit of sunshine cuz it’s not great coming away is it when it’s raining. At least I’ve had a week of sunshine already so the rain doesn’t really bother me too much and I’m prepared for it. Oh look, great cobbles when it’s wet. Just what you want. Yeah, it’s lovely little village, isn’t it? Look at that place. [Music] Is there any shelter? Let’s get under that tree there. Oh, proper little bits of shelter. Perfect. like they were made for the job. Right. Sorry guys. I’m going to turn you off. If it starts to dry up a bit, I’ll put the cameras back on. But for now, I don’t want to ruin the cameras. See you in a bit. Right, just jumped off the N12. Um decided to jump on there, get some miles out the way bin as it been raining. Now it’s stopped raining and it’s starting to dry out. I’ve come off the N12. I’ve put Calimoto back onto windy roads and we’ve got about another 90 mile to go. 2 and 1 half hours. So hopefully we can start enjoying it again because riding in the rain on the big dual carriageways is boring. So hopefully if the rain stays away, we can stay on the twisties and have a fun 90 miles. So enjoy. Another village. Another church. Just taking a uh welldeserved stop for a pan of chocolate and a I think I’m on the road to what’s it called? St. Triml. Trimmoel St. Trimmoel. Trimol. I’m on that road, but I keep seeing these crosses all over the place on the roads. Anybody got any idea what they’re about? Yeah, they’re they’re everywhere, but no signs, nothing around them. Bit weird. Well, not to say not weird, just unusual. Don’t know what they’re for. Um, so yeah, if anybody knows what they are and what they’re for, let me know. Yeah, there’s another sign there says where I’m going. Look, St. Trim Trimmoel Trimmo. T R I M O E L. It’s the D80. Yeah, just uh on the windy windy roads again enjoying the view. I’m a bit tired today. Um I slept really well. I think it’s just towards the end of the trip now. It’s taking its toll. You know, this is day nine um of solid riding and it’s Yeah, it’s hard work. It’s really enjoyable, but it’s hard work. But um yeah, heading up towards Someow today, I’ve put in on Calimoto. I put in another stop on the coast. We’ll go and have a look at the coast. Hopefully try and get the drone up if it’s not too windy. Um, but it is fairly windy today, so we might not do. But I’m going to finish my pan of chocolate, have a drink, have 5 minutes, and we’ll get back on the road. Stimmoel Chimol Chimmoel Trmoel Trol St. Trol I don’t know. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Don’t think I was supposed to go down there on me bike. Everybody was giving me dirty looks, but I’m only here once. Didn’t see any signs saying not to. But then nobody else is down there, so I’m presuming I wasn’t meant to. But yeah, if looks could kill, I would be dead many times over. Now, this boat’s doing the same thing. Yeah, I’m all right. He’s just pissing behind the sign. Right to the hotel. I’ve just booked a hotel in Samalo uh on the seafront again. Bit more expensive tonight. Well, I say a bit more. £110 I think it was. I thought it was me last night. I’ll treat myself, have a walk around Samalo. Um, and then like I say, got to meet the parents and my sister in the morning. So, last night in France. Tomorrow night, I’ll be on the ferry. Let’s make the most of it. Tomorrow I am obviously meeting the family, but we’re going to uh nip to more San Michelle in the morning. Going to try and get some um photos and some videos from around there and then we’re going up to where my parents are staying for the week. We’ll have some dinner with them and then I’m heading off to the ferry for tomorrow night. But for now, we’re going to the hotel. Let’s go. Literally the ferry port exit is over there. So they’ll literally drive past this hotel in the morning. It’s a good location, isn’t it? I’m presuming that is the uh secure parking. Awesome. Right, let’s go and get checked in. All checked into the hotel. Just been for a walk, had an ice cream. Just come down to the harbor in San Malo. It’s uh another lovely little harbor. Bit of a beach over there. Um some cracking views. Quite a few boats going in and out today. that went up to a uh watch out point earlier. You’ve probably seen the drone footage of it. Beautiful place, but went up on a motorbike. Probably wasn’t supposed to. Heyo. I’m only here once I so got to do it. Anyway, going to try and find something to eat. Um and then uh go get back to the room and start uh transferring some videos. But yeah, beautiful, beautiful place again. I’ll have a walk around, put some more photos on, and uh yeah, enjoy. [Music]
