keep on that uh good pace and hoping that they will be riders who will take it up because 3.9 km to go. He cannot do it all but you can see they’re still wanting to roll taking it up here. Dunar, Sheffield. Uh, so it’s playing well for Mass Pedals for the moment. 4 km to go on the outskirts of town now. But now in the Colombian champions jersey, the white, yellow, blue, and red and the purple here, the Irishman, it’s Dumbart, Sheffield from the United States. Person the Dane, Wetra the Colombian, the Venezuelan champion, Fervaka from Florida in Belgium. You’ve got Frigo, the Italian vine from Australia. It twists and turns on the way in. Now on a long bend to the left before a very narrow plus after several roundabouts both on the right hand side. It’s more than a 90° turn to the left at around 2 well 2 3 km to go. Yes. Well, about 2.5 km to go. You have a number of roundabouts before that between the two and 3 kilometers. Uh and uh then you take that uh uh left and it is a long run to the uh what about 1,200 13 uh uh 1300 meters to go. It goes right again and then another right and straight into the finish. But yeah, this is the one where the roundabouts although you know they are pretty straightforward that is a place where a rider could come from behind and try and create a surprise. Is that what sports directors will be talking about maybe now? Places to go or is it just all on legs as we see around about both sides here. 2.6 to go. Tension everywhere. [Applause] It’s been more than two weeks work. Fatigue, missed opportunities for most. Vine of course has taken two as you can see now the Dumbar starts to ride away certainly up the pace we saw them chasing and knocks off the effort but it’s right it’s left this is certainly left and this is that big left turn we were talking about just outside 2ks to go the speed’s off again and Peterson attacks mison to make the move a look around able to distance anybody yet Oh though Sheffield he lets the wheel go because Pernau was in that front group. Well, Pearson not really able to kill anyone off there. No, but I think he wants to keep the pace high and just throw that little bit of attack there. But uh yeah, he didn’t really create any gaps at all. And it’s going to be one now where he has to continue on here. And we can see who in the wheel already of Mass Ped still with 1.7 km to go here. And yeah, we can see the rock wanting to have a go here. But uh yeah, Hson on the uh on the alert fully and just the moment somebody go in the wheel that’s what he’s got to do now because if he leave a gap of 20 30 m then the others are going to just sit on his wheel. So moment somebody attacks bang in the wheel immediately and everybody else behind have to make the same effort to follow Person. Fine will go now and this is what the conversation was about I’m sure. You go then I go. Vine attacks. Bernal is equal to it. So is Pearson. 1.1 km to go now. Next big sharp right turn coming up just beyond this barrier. Vine’s attack comes to nothing. Fvak has already tried. We’ve had Pearson. We’ve had Dumbar. Who goes next? Our tactic is clear. He wants to sit and sprint and be the freshest in it if he can try to win a stage from Moby start the first time in this race. Yes. And this is a complicated one from Matt Pz. We can see now he’s taking it up on the front. He wants to keep this pace real high because he knows they’re going to try and attack him. But Ola there know he’s in that good position here behind Sheffield. But Pedson, we know how powerful he is. But some defined immediately again he has to go on the wheel and that’s what he does. But yeah, when you have to do all of this, the riders that in the wheel here, Olar, he could be the danger one. into that final right turn they go just 350 m. Oh, and a big crash and it’s Sheffield who’s down going out on the corner. It’s Frigo at the front. Gets a gap, but here comes Pearson trying to come off his wheel is Mar Pearson at the front. In the center, Pearson in the green. Pearson all day long. Mar Pearson finally gets his stage win by brute force, full control, heart. He was hungry. So many green jersey points he’s eaten up over the last week. It had gone wrong and worse. But today it all went right and today he went out there and grabbed it with both hands. It’s little trick. It’s M Pen finally. Well, what a ride by the team. First of all, you look riding that breakaway and controlling the two men out in front from a long way out. And then in that final, Pedson like he did just uh an amazing job and not afraid to take it up and riders are attacking. Coming into that final corner, Frigo came over him. He let him have his place there and started the lead out. And from there on, Person, you know, he wasn’t challenged at all for the victory. And look at what it means to them all. And the

  1. Can't TNT afford English speaking commentators? And did anyone think this thing was going to turn out any differently than it did with Mads in the group? The rest of them should have drawn straws about 5k's out to decide who was going to crash out Pedersen in the final 1k. Maybe that was Sheffield's plan / job… and he just took himself out instead…?
