Hello and welcome to highlights of stage four of the Lloyds tour Britain men from Athe to Burton Dacet Country Park 186.9 km today 8.3 km of neutralized section the riders would be taking in Olaf Koi taking a 10-second advantage over teammate Matthew Brennan into the stage with Alberto Dianazi third at 14 seconds through kilometer zero and there would be a lot of attacks before the breakaway way was finally established. It was Josh Golica of the Great Britain national team and Rory Townsend that went clear. They would be joined at the front by Cedric Burnance of the team of Lotto, Victor Buli of Flanders Balwisa, Zeb Kein of the Uni Tama Rockets trying to get across but unfortunately he tried to go just as the express train was leaving the station. He wouldn’t get on unfortunately leaving us four leaders. The big question was could Olaf Koi get up the Burton Dacet climb and we were here in 2019. It was a stage victory for Matthew Vanderpool ahead of Mateo Trentine. Trentine back in this race for TUDA Pro Cycling. It was Sudal Quickstep that were controlling affairs on the front of the bunch through the intermediate sprint point at Cington with 101.8 Eight km to go. Rory Townsen taking that ahead of Josh Golica with Vuli taking the 1 second. There was a rear wheel puncture for Garite Thomas of the Inos Grenaders. Tried to give a fan a bottle just as one of the cars came past the beautiful custom bike being made for Garite Thomas. On to our first King of the Mountains of the day at Fris Hill. It was Victor Vikuli and Josh Golica that would set out a battle for the King of the Mountains jersey. Both riders had been in the breakaway together on day one. So, six points to Vuli over the top of the first climb. They would then go on to Fant Hill for the second climb and it would be the same order between one and two with the Flanders Baza rider taking the maximum points. Scodica crossing the line in second place. The Pelaton though were trying to line things up for Sunrising Hill. It was a right turn into the climb averaging 10% maxing out at 15 with Victor Vakuli adding another six points to his tally. Golica crossing the line in second in the Pelaton behind though. Everything was starting to kick off. A few riders just testing their legs out. It was on to the climb at Burton Dacet Hills in the country park. Our breakaway group managing to crest the summit still in the lead but their gap was tumbling. Remco apore lighting it up on the climb and with him went Pavl Civicov and AJ August the young Inos Grenaders rider from the USA. Would this be the big move of the day? Balcommer in the yellow, red and blue of lead track making it up to the chasers. They made contact with the breakaway, but team Vizma Lisa Bike brought things back together. Thomas Glo was the rider that brought it back under control onto the climb for the penultimate time. Fred Wright attacking for Bahrain victorious. Ola of the UAE team cresting the summit taking maximum points in the king of the mountains. There was then a big move by Andreas Lenes the Norwegian national champion. It looked like he had timed the move perfectly but kind of ran out of gas. The green jersey though was losing time and that jersey would be passing to a new recipient. It was onto the climb for the final time. Sam Watson, the British national champion on the front led it out. It’s all about timing. Aan apool there. Tone arts in the red of the team of Lotto. Julian Alfalipe. Roman Gregoire of Group FDJ Watson lining it up on the front. Roman Gregoire coming through. This is the point where the climb just levels off then kicks up around the final corner. Milan VA moving up in the blue and white of Q36.5. He went first. Watson reacted. Julian Alfippe would go right. Roman Gregoire would go left. A little shimmy through the inside from Alfaleip just as Roman Gregoire kicked around the outside and it would be a battle of the French riders as Roman Gregoire came up to the top of the climb and a welldeserved stage victory for the Frenchman ahead of Julian Alfalipe with Zambini crossing the line in third. We’ll see you for the presentation in a few moments time. Perfect timing from Arman Gregoire to take the stage ahead and he takes a two second advantage over Matthew Brennan into stage five with Aba Fleet third at 4 seconds.

  1. The U.K. has so many incredible cycling spots and amazing hills. It baffles me every year why almost all the stages are sprint finishes. They really need to get the race into the national parks in the peaks or the lakes way way more

  2. More stages like this would make this race a real highlight on the calendar rather than an overlooked minor race. I also feel that moving it to August would help tremendously. The problem with its current spot is that it's completely overshadowed by the Vuelta. After the Tour it always feels like there's a void until the Vuelta starts, so the period in between would be a good time for an event such as this.
