  1. I’ve owned a couple of rockhoppers and they’ve got solid geometry. The suspension is good for its price point as well. If you do end up on the rockhopper just make sure to get a dropper and cranks that are a good size for you.

  2. My personal experience with Specialized Rockhopper as a first bike was that it sucked massively, just an overall bad experience with brake failure, Chainsuck and shifting issues.

I would personally advise you to look at the 2nd hand market and get a bike with better specs for the same budget, you want a bike that enables you to fall in love with the sport, not regret starting.

  3. You can take a look at GreenPlus bikes too. Got one for my daughter for about 15k if i recall. Its got Deore gearset and a tapered head tube. Fork is okay, and some of their frames will take a dropper but not all of them. If you’re close to Guadalajara, the Giant store has some solid options.

  4. They are good. Been around for years, they’ve sold thousands so a few people might have gotten duds but generally they are a solid bike.

  5. For your first bike do not buy new. 2nd hand is always the best option for bikes and defiantly mountain bikes. I suggest going to pinkbike.com and go to buy sell. People who know mountain biking sell ligit bikes there and you can sort through the bikes in your area. For under 1000$ USD you can get some good bikes if you are patient and wait for good offers.
