[Music] Hello and welcome to stage 13 of Lavoa Espña from Capeon Dasal to the mighty Anglaroo. It was to be a thriller of a stage but all calm at the start. 202ks facing the riders on this day. Sun and smiles at the beginning as all our jersey wearers rolled out to what was going to be a very fast stage indeed. Let’s have a look exactly what was on the menu. There we go. Starting in Cabon Dasal up to the mighty Angaloo with two other climbs on the way as well. The Alto Lamoseta and also the Alto del Cordal. Both first category climbs before the mighty Hall up to the line. There was a tailwind pretty much all day and that saw some very fast racing indeed. But unfortunately, Ben O Connor last year a stage winner and of course on the podium in the VA not starting due to illness. So a very fast start indeed. The first couple of hours ran off at a quite astonishing 51ks an hour. We had a breakaway of 25 riders that built up a lead as you can see of approximately 3 and 1/2 minutes and included this man. Well, one of the men of the match of this Walt so far. He wasn’t too far off the pace in the leading group going over the top of the first climb. The points on climb number one of the day taken by Nicholas Vinorov and then at around 3 and 1/2 minutes behind the rest of the Pelaton over the top of the Alto de Mosqueta. Tibi was having a nightmare of a day. He was in the front group but was forced to change bikes and then this moment. Wow, this nearly shook us up. A dog dragging a chair. I’ve never seen anything quite like that in my life. Thankfully, everybody stayed upright and it was Victor Campernon dragging the Pelaton behind. Mads Pedison after descending like a demon took first place on the sprint, adding another 20 valuable points to his green jersey tally. Chapo to Mr. Pison. There we go. Confirmation just ahead of Vinorov and Gophili. They’re in third place, meaning that Matt Pelis now has 192 points to Ethan Vernon’s 111. Emerging out of the breakaway, three surviving riders, Bob Jungles of Inos Grenaders, Nicholas Vikorov of Aana and also there in the mix for Moby Star Jefferson Sepeda. Meanwhile, coming on to the penultimate climb of the day were bunch were riding hard at 310 and it was again Vinorov taking maximum points just ahead of Bob Yungles and just behind on on the descent, Terry crashed on a corner. It was a nightmare of a day for Antonio Tiberi losing traction with the back wheel in that muddy section and laying it down just under the Ankco, but thankfully he was uninjured. Heading towards the foot of the Anger loop. There was a demonstration that unfortunately we have become used to in this race. The riders at the front were briefly halted before they were set on their way. Young girls been avoided losing about 20 seconds, but they were soon on their way again. The gap to the Pelaton had closed down to just under 2 and 1/2 minutes and the man doing a lot of the chasing on the lower slopes was Jayvine in the mountains jersey but the pressure up front was too much for Jefferson Sepeda and he was dropped by jungles and Vineorov and still a ferocious tempo being set by UAE team Emirates Jvine there Felix Grush Hartner just behind as we get as we got closer and closer to the steep slopes up in front. A lovely show of sportsmanship here between Bob Jungles and Nicholas Vinorov. Vikorov slipping his gears, but Jungles helping out. Jungles was the sole surviving rider just heading into the final 7 km. He was to drop the Kazak rider, but meanwhile the pelon behind was starting to shed riders left, right, and center. Jay Vine, his job was done for the day, and it was left up to Felix Grochartner. They caught Nicholas Bakorov and then ultimately Jungles with 5 and a half km to go was caught by Xiao Almeida who had with him for company the red jersey of Yiannis Bingo. Ji Hindley was also there the former Jura winner and Sepkus who won the VA of course in 2023 with 4 and a half km still to glow of this fearsome climb. Xiao made it with un well undimemed focus was pressing on. Didn’t even ask for a turn as we headed onto the steeper slopes of this climb. Dragging Yonas Vingo up this climb. And also fighting his own personal battle was Tom Pigcock. Gamely trying to hold on to third place overall. With 2.2ks to go, we hit the steepest, most ferocious slopes. And at this point, Tom Pigcock managed to latch back onto the wheel of Ricky and Pelazari as we headed into the final 500 meters with Almeida and Yonas Vingo. Here they go. It’s Al trying to pedal on. Remember, 10 bonus seconds of first over the line. Six for the second. Visma have ridden all day long. It’s they who said they wanted a win today, but here comes Almeida. 150 m to the line. UA took it up on the penultimate climb today. He’s trying to hammer it home. Made it to win it the first time at the W. Espñati does 10 bonus seconds to him. Fall back on Vigor. The WA is alive despite the fact that Yonas Vigor retains the red jersey. What a ride by Xiaawa Almeida. What a ride as well by Joy Hindley there to finish in third. Sepkus in fourth. Good ride by the American. But delight all round for Joah Almeida. What a ride. the finest win without a shadow of a doubt of his career. Also solid on the day was Felix Gal coming home in fifth on his own. And then not too far behind. Meanwhile, there was a a lovely sportsmanlike hug for Almeida and Yonas Vingo. So much respect between them. Pelazari coming home there in the white jersey of best young rider and then Tom Pickcock just out sprinting Matthew Rkitella. So a warm down on the TT bike. TT still to come in the final week, but a difficult day for Jonas Vingo. Importantly, he holds on to red. But what can you say about Xiao Almeida? What a focused strong performance that was. Maybe a little shake of disbelief. But Almeida making six wins for UAE Emirates. So confirmation Almeida took the win ahead of Yonasio. Fine third place from Jihindi. Then it was Kus Gold, Pelisari, Pitco, Cachillo, Chicone, and Boulder Stone. Thanks to my teammates. Uh they were key today. We did an amazing stage. I just put my pace from the bottom and I just did did the best I could. Jonas was always on the wheel. The last K I was uh on the limit. I guess we’re both on the limits. I was waiting for his attack anytime. Thanks, man. And I thought he pass me in the finish line, but I knew the finish line quite well from two years ago. And I Yeah, I took the first the last corner and then it’s hard to pass. Yeah, I think it was amazing day. An amazing day indeed. Well, this is the look of the general classification following stage 13. Vingod still lead, but Xiaoa has closed the gap. He now sits at 46 seconds with Pickock at 218 and Hindley moving into fourth. A difficult day for the Dane, but the main thing is he retains the leader red jersey. the other classifications. Jayvine untroubled at the head of the King of the Mountains classification. Bingo though moving in to second place at 33 points. So all smiles for JVine. Six wins for this team. Two for himself. No wonder he’s smiling on the podium. Put in a lot of work on the front for Almeida today. Well, let’s have a look ahead to stage 14. A far shorter stage from Aileles to Lagos Domeo up the climb of La Faropona. 135.9 ks, but a lot of climbing just under 4,000 m of elevation packed within this stage. A third category climb, a first cat, and then the difficult ride to the summit. It’s going to be another GC battle, that’s for sure. Do not miss it. [Music]

I'm pretty sure that dog is a Palestine protester
from here on out The cycling media should call wheel sucking "doing a jonas".😂
La Vuelta a España –>> Pro Cyclists vs Pro Test Ants!
Not angry-lu.
It's Angliru ha ha😊
Viva Portugal bota lume
So sick of UAE
Almeida was a Beast today😊😊
Good ride for pidders, long way to go yet
Absolutely brilliant to see more protests on a country lane in Northern Spain. I'm sure they saved at least 3 lives with that circus.
Great ride by Jai Hindley! Didn't expect him to be so strong after his crash at the Giro.
I am so sick of these political bullSh*t when it comes to watching my favourite sport for relaxation 😠
That dog less intrusive than the idio*s with Palestine flags🤣
Very proud of almeida, people doubt even is team doubt, but that is just fuel for him, let's see, suprise them João,coraçao de campeao
Totally Against the Towel Wearers!
Etapa extraordinaria salvo por los imbeciles con la bandera de Palestina q pararon a los escapados
Calling protests against genocide 'unfortunate' wins the award for 'most privileged sentence i've heard this week'. Love the sport but have some perspective
Ngl some of those comments on jonas are delusional. Am a pogi fun but everyone who’s realistic knows that jonas is a better climber than almeida…
Saying that jonas cant „even“ beat almeida is crazy – Jonas peaked at the tour, as well as pogi. So its not that much of a suprise that jonas isnt at his absolute best at the moment. I really can’t understand the hate jonas gets, his sportsmanship is really considerable and he is the only rider that can challenge pogi a bit in the mountains.
Chapeau to almeida tho – he definitely was very strong today and deserved the win.
Tomorrow stage, jonas any chance?
Jonas could’ve easily had the stage but no point of going extra if you’re already in lead. Play defense.
Have to applaud spanish public for standing up and not being quiet.
In the name of future portuguese cycling champions, and nowadays viewers, I truly hope that João Almeida wins, despite Jonas being an amazing rider and human and UAE team being dishonest to Almeida. BOTA LUME!!! Bora João!
Go Almeida! The GC battle is alive!
Jonas always seeing the back of a UAE jersey 😂
Portugal gran pais de campeones. Subiendo nivel en balonmano, baloncesto y ciclismo. Felicidades desde España
Good job Spain for containing most of the protestors but they needs to do more and punish these hooligans harshly. Endanger athletes to show your personal political belief should bear the full weight of the law.
The world will be a better place if we can just keep our political belief to ourselves.
Jonas is such a fighter and an incredible talent. It just seems that he has lost that extra gear that only he has with Todej. He isn’t stamping his authority on the last 2 climbs against Pidcock and Almeida. Instead, he has shown them that he is vulnerable. That he can be beaten.
What a shame on Jonas. Everyone expected him to attack today and gain more time, but he decided to glue wheels after all the work put out by his teammates. So disappointing. Visma just lost a fan.
UAE didn’t come here for the red, they probably came to stack up as much stages as possible, and it’s working perfectly for them
I'm retired at 42. went from Grass to Grace. This video here reminds me of my transformation from a nobody to good home, honest husband, $31K biweekly and a good daughter full of love God bless🇱🇷🇱🇷.
Che tappa wow almeida immenso e Vingergaard super
Tiberi glli è finita bene poteva fare la fine dicaserelli casartelli
I know, I'll safely tether my dog to this cheap plastic chair while I watch the Vuelta go by 😮
Stages like these remind you that these athletes are superhuman.
I guess the pro-Hamas protestor-clowns don't like to protest on the really steep slopes. 🤣🤡🤣
Conocí a João Almeida después de pasar 15 días de rosa en el Giro de Italia. Es un joven muy humilde, igual que sus padres y su hermana. Se merece esta victoria y está demostrando su valía. Es el orgullo de Portugal.
How are they so fast in the last section of the long climb? Incredible.
Pure class Almeida we need this in days to come ,vinegard can't hold it every dy
Finally some semblance of team support for UAE. Vine did great pulling for Almeida and Joao didn't disappoint. And U recon looking back a week ago Joao could have been in much better GC standing today if UAE team had given him the trust and respect I so believe he deserve. 🚴🇵🇭
Bravo Jaoa.👏👏👏…Congrats to UAE team.Wonder who's behind and paying those poor protesters displaying terrorists Palestinian flags disrupting and endangering the cyclists?
Will be so glad to get out of this part of the country that supports hostage taking, mutilating terrorists from other parts of the world, and mistakenly think the lesser evil of "sport terrorism", or "holding the race hostage", supports their own cause. Dickheads. More 'Palestine' flags than Basque flags lol🤨On a happier note, so glad Jonas did not fight (apparently) for the stage win at the end after getting Almeida to do all the work, and gain bulk time. And nice "thank you" afterward shows the class of the man 🙂
