Fixed gear bike making a ticking noise when seated in the saddle pedaling. I cannot recreate the noise when the bike is on the stand.
The noise also subsides at times, especially when I apply more force to the pedals.
Chainring bolts are all tightened ( and my shoelaces are definitely not tapping lol) but I have a sneaking suspicion it could be the pedals. The pedals are MKS touring pedals.
Would really appreciate some insight if anyone has ideas and/or remedies.
Can anyone diagnose this ticking noise?

All I can hear is the wind
Check the chainring bolts.
Pedal bearing? The sound seems to be in sync with pedaling.
It sounds like it not quite in gear
Check the seat cluster (seat post, seat post clamp, saddle rails). Take everything apart, thoroughly clean and grease all interfaces, all the way down to the bolt for the clamp. This is a simple “do no harm” fix.
I chased a very similar noise on my bike recently. I went down so many rabbit holes and even replaced my BB … turns out it was the seat cluster.
Hey so I’ve had the same issue with two of my bikes (road and fixed). I could feel and hear something clicking at exactly the same angle with each pedal stroke.
In both cases it was solved by removing the pedals and cranks, cleaning and regreasing everything then tightening everything back correctly. I’d start by just doing this since it’s gonna take like half an hour and will probably solve the clicking.
Sounds crank related to me. Check the bottom bracket and crank arm bolts. Also, look to see a shift wire isn’t hitting the crank arm.
I had the same issue with the same pedals, that coincidentally also had chrome cages on a black single speed.
It’s likely the bearings inside one of the pedals.
I took mine apart and found a small chip on the inside of the hub. Resurfacing and polishing might work but probably not worth the time or effort.
I took it as a sign to switch to clip less.
Best of luck
I would say the bottom bracket. Is there a play with the crank?
Bottom bracket. Remove, inspect bearings, clean, grease, re-install.
