It's quite hard to tell from this angle but that jump is a lot shorter and more sudden that it appears
Thankfully I only walked out with mild neck pain and a broken visor and didn't break anything on my bike
You’ve got your weight way too far back. You’re riding passive and scared.
See that red line I drew? Ideally before you hit the face of the jump your chin is lined up with that red line. (chin over stem).
As you hit the face, you accept the transition, press through the bottom bracket with your feet. Don’t allow the bike to fold up into you, keep that back tension strong. Don’t actively yank up with your arms, but more allow the shift of weight slightly backwards keep tension in your arms as the bike’s front wheel lifts. Try to hold that tension even as your front wheel leaves the lip.
Then as your rear wheel hits the end of the lip, push through the bottom bracket with your feet to pop, or keep your legs strong if you want a more horizontal trajectory.
u/superraddeathninja not only has a badass user name, but he’s also really right, you’re lucky you didn’t otb there. You weren’t riding the bike, the bike was riding you. You weren’t in control.

People make and land jumps all the time with sketchy form/technique. But it’s really hard to stick a landing when you’re foot/feet come off the pedals.

You got squirrely and crashed.

Somewhat unrelated—I’d recommend better shoes.

you fell.

Riding way too far back on your bike. You get bucked when you ride back there…. Minimal stability, balance & control from the back seat.

Some deep analysis here. I just thought you hit a deep area of sand or loose soil.

You got bucked forward because your approach was out of position, hands heavy. You un-weighted your feet (heels up) and lost one or both pedals.
You’re REALLY lucky you didn’t OTB
Riding squirrelly, slipped a pedal, crashed.
