Turned my old 29er into my bad-condition commuter
After getting my eGravel, my 29er touring Mtb isn't really in use anymore.
Half of my commute is farming and forest paths that get really sketchy when we have rain or snow/slush. So i decided that my old Bike will become my commuter for those upcoming autumn and winter conditions where i don't want to mess up my newer and kore expensive bike.
Put Schwalbe Dirty Dan mud tyres in super soft compound on there, gave it a good clean and re-lube with a more weatherproof chain-oil, made sure that the rack fits either a pannier or basket, and now i'm pretty confident for the cold time.
If we get a harsh winter with kore ice, i can still mount an actual spike wheel to keep the front in line, but we will see if i need that.
Rides absolute ass on dry road because of rolling resistance and hige sidespikes, but thunderstorms are said to come tonight, so i will be able to test some mud probably
