Worried I will damage something if I use pliers. Can't get it to wiggle at all by hand. Any help? I found a park tool av-5 axle and spindle vise insert but its 54 bucks.

Knippex pliers wrench. they even do some clip on soft jaws. Or try BSC Tools, they do a specific tool for it – Hub end cap remover
