I've got a new rack and a bit stuck for what panniers I can use, also considering a top bag , and might even attach a basket. Looking for ideas really.
I only see 3 bolt points, I would go very light on weight. Also, any pannier you attach is going to be out there on the lever arm. Typically you want the front pannier about in the middle of the wheel area. That helps a lot with steering. I would be a bit worried about tortional rigidity with this.
Put a decent amount of weight on the end of your outstretched arm and pivot left and right. Now do that with the weight near your chest instead, like a backpack. That’s what you will experience with weight out on a lever arm. This is not as much as factor on the rear wheel as you don’t steer it. So panniers go higher up to the top of the wheel area.
